That was retconned in the 90's right? Giving him a wife and overbearing mother I mean (why is it always an overbearing mother?). Before that, he was just a guy who was bestowed with god-like powers, decided to use them for personal gain, but wasn't exactly the brightest bulb in the bunch (no pun). I loved that the guy could do anything but just didn't have the mind or imagination to put his powers to good use. So much material like this to mine from imo.

You're thinking of Doc Ock. He had a fiancee and an over bearing mother who spoiled it all with emotional blackmail on him. Afterwards it really sent him to the dark side:

I'd settle for just good movies, let alone Spider-Man movies. lol (I know what you meant). I actually haven't disliked a single casting choice- now the way they're utilized on the other hand...

That's a common problem with movies that fall short of the mark. Nothing wrong with the actors, it's the material and execution that falls short.

and yes, there were moments where Parker came off as an entitled jerk for sure, in TASM. Never seen a representation of the character like that in any media, so I don't know where they thought they were pulling from in that case.

Nor I. But they thankfully didn't have a single moment like that in the sequel. One area they definitely improved on; Peter's character.

Saw ASM2 yesterday evening, didn't get home til after midnight and had time to sleep on this...

I absolutely loved this movie. I have some nitpicks and some issues here and there but overall, I just loved it.

And, I almost feel like I'm not supposed to. Not because I don't have a good opinion, but because there's so much negativity surrounding this movie. It's been a long, well, almost a month of seeing all kinds of reviews...I think that might have taken a toll on me without even knowing it. It's a bit saddening, really.

Someone also mentioned that Gwen could have just went to England. Do you guys think they could have waited till 3 to do it?

I'm glad they got it over with in this movie and I'm also sad that Emma won't be there. For the next movie I wonder what they are going to do. I don't want them to rush the script.

And I think there MIGHT be a possibility that Sin Six could come before ASM3. Like for example it comes out in May or something. Idk..
