The Amazing Spider-Man 2 The Amazing Spider-Man 2 - User Review Thread! - SPOILERS! - Part 5

LMAO @ Nolan directing Spidey! Seriously I think the people that come up with that crap are probably wearing TDK pajamas in front of their computers when they type that.

Nolan is a good film maker. IMO his best work was done on films that had less action and more drama, like Memento and the Prestige.

I think the "action scenes" in TDKR alone should disqualify Nolan from directing any more superhero films. The fight choreography with Bane and Batman is LOL hilarious.

Agreed

I also don't think saying that Nolan can't make action is a label, its just the truth. The reason why James Cameron, QT and Nolan are great is because they stick to their strengths and there are things they can't do.

Lets be honest,Nolan can make a four hour film of Peter Parker picking his nose and it'd get rave reviews from some.:hehe:

So it seems as if the film is averaging a 7/10 in the user poll. Not sure how I feel about that.

Overall, it looks like there are more people that think the film is average (7) to great (8-10).

Would you say that fits the general consensus?

I disagree both fights with bane where great. Plus what if they broght in someone else for the fights choreography and just have Nolan focus on the story.

Loved the spidey stuff, loved parker and gwen and thought pre green gobby Osborne was good....villains, and scenes with em...ruined the movie for me. Electros voice however was great. Infact foxx was good actually but he was underused.

Fits it as far as I'm concerned.

It isn't a perfect film, or a perfect Spider-Man film, but it sure as hell is an entertaining film, and a damn good Spidey one.

The thing is, the polls in the forums for a specific movie tend to be unreliable.

See MOS.

It's amazing to see how many people even voted in the SM3 poll hahaha

Saw the movie. Wasn't great, wasn't terrible. The Goblin origin was a joke. Electro was terrible to be honest. Liked Max Dillon, but the transformation just didn't work and to say the villain was one-dimensional would be the understatement of the century. Luckily Spiderman isn't just about the villains like Burton's Batmans and Gwen and Dehaan were solid as you'd expect. Garfield has outdone Maguire from technical standpoint on every level, but that is also not a surprise. Webb gets the characters, but he can't execute the transitions and keep the audiences attention. Nobody really gave a **** about Max Dillon in the end and why would you? Nobody cares or sympathizes with Harry because the evolution was as haphazard as Anakin Skywalker. It just didn't come together when and where it needed to.

6.5/10

The big difference between those polls to me is the percentage of the votes at the lower end of the spectrum, does say a lot.

You don't cared, my first time i heard people saying "Don't do that" to the cops, heck i have a friend that felt bad for Harry.. Dafuq?

I actually liked Harry better when he comes off as malicious rather than sympathetic. My favorite scenes with him were with him giving some vague threats to Gwen in the elevator and also when Dane Dehann straight up starts chewing scenery when he returns to Oscorp with Electro (he really really plays a good villain).

I'm off the opinion that he was being somewhat manipulative when he plead to Electro for help and kept yelling "I need you!!!"

If they gave him more character development and better material to work with, I really think that Dane Dehaan's Harry Osborn could've reached a Joker or Loki level of popularity.

He was kinda threatning Gwen?

What was it for spiderman 2?

Maybe comparing the user reviews from TASM, TASM2, SM1, SM2 and SM3 might be useful

I've read some pages of the old SM3 threads, and it's evident that it took time for that film to be regarded as it is today. I wonder where TASM2 will stand 5 years from now. Seriously, I'm curious because it's not so easy to predict. Will it fall under MOS, Iron Man 2 or SM3 territory? Because it definitely seems to have less favor than TASM1 did in its time... while being nowhere near as mock-worthy as SM3. But it's also more memorable than IM2 for obvious reasons, which makes it less skippable than that film...

It might even come to represent a category of its own, who knows.

This kinda proves that most people liked the movie but then decided to jump on the hate bandwagon.

Haters are loud.
Truth is I was 'entertained' (but disappointed) by SM3 which is more than can be said of my experience of B&R, BR, BF, IM3 and a lot of other movies.
Negativity is such now that if a movie you like or at least enjoyed gets trashed you keep it quiet.

Or maybe people that enjoy the movie give that opinion and move on with their lives.
