You'll become one of us.
If you had been able to see just how mad I was when I first heard the rumors, I'm not sure you'd be saying that. I'm scared what will happen to me when there's an official announcement, I think I might actually Hulk out or something. :funny:

:yay: Thanks.

I agree on the reboot part, it'd be way too soon (sooner than SM3-TASM), but it'd be a sacrifice we'd have to make should we want more Spidey.

Plus with the rumors that Marvel would skip the origin story, I say go for it.
The ideal solution for me would be for Marvel to just bring Andrew Garfield into the fold, loosely connecting the franchises. I think it'd go over better with the general audience too, seeing someone they'd recognize in an end-credits sequence or something.

Sadly we all know that'll never happen. So reboot it is, I guess. :csad:

So in other words, this is you if the deal happens:

Are you saying you alone must suffer so the rest of us could rejoice? Your noble sacrifice won't be in vain. :toth

Thanks for the video, spider-neil. I'm still watching it, but they've already expressed some of my problems with Spidey entering the MCU - especially regarding the relationship aspects of Spidey compared to some of the MCU movies and not having complete faith in Marvel based on the comics.

Hahhaha, that's pretty accurate. Gotta love Conan. :woot:

Just for you, Han. Just for you.

You don't get to say that lmao. Nobody knows what you want, you change your mind to often to refer to "us".

Still love you though.

Think about this for a second: let say the Marvel/Sony Shared Rights deal goes through; however, Sony maintain creative control, Avi Arad is "OUT", and Marvel has people involved in the creative process, with a producer...of course there would be other agreements, such as Marvel gets to use the character, Sony solo projects must line up with MCU, investment/budget/profit share, distribution, advertisement/marketing/toys dollars, etc...But how would you feel about the underline; would you be on board with that sort of deal?

Sony creative control isn't as scary of an idea with Arad out. However, with Arad out it's highly like creative control will be given to marvel. Also, if Arad is booted, I'd imagine the Russo's would take the producer position from him as they offered to produce the films in a leaked email.

I wouldn't be as opposed to this because is in this scenario Sony keeps creative control, which I'd like, though I'm guessing most people won't.

I gotta admit though, despite some of his decisions, I'd feel kinda bad for Avi. Just don't give him as much control as he's got now, but he has been there since the beginning. *hides*

The major part is that Spidey is in the MCU, Marvel won't let them screw up their universe. They've worked too hard to build it to what it is, they'll make sure Sony is in line. There have to be stipulations.

This? Nothing to be worried about.

Sorry, I laughed a little when I read this!!!

This is a description of what Sony would be willing to offer Disney, for likely something around $1 billion dollars!!!

"Sony maintain creative control"!!!!! LOL!!!!!

The point is that there is no way that Sony will undersell the Spidey rights, and there is no way that Disney would ever agree to a deal like this!

As amazing as it would be to see Spidey in the MCU, the truth is that Disney just doesn't need him enough to be forced to work with Sony!!!
