BRAB, what a beautiful story and you even included my favorite "character".

He is the hero we deserve

Best case scenario: Spidey in MCU, Sony have no control at all. First movie in 2017, second in 2019. Spidey makes cameos in Aos and Daredevil. Makes full appearances in Infinity war. Movies are actually good.

In exchange, Sony gains small things, biggest is the rights to animated cartoons. Sony greenlights seasons 3-6 of "The Spectacular Spiderman", retains all voice actors.

Avi Arad is fired and goes on to run the "Divergent" series into the ground before it takes off and also casts Logan Lerhman and Dylan O'brien is a 3 parter called "Poison", a bird man style movie featuring Avi himself. Avi dodges taxes and gets arrested, whilst the tumblr Actors can get their grubby paws nowhere near the spiderman franchise

Andre Garfield makes TASM3 cause he doesn't care about licensing rights and he's dating Emma-Freaking-Stone, he can do whatever he wants. Marvel doesn't care, Andrew releases it on tumblr along with another SJW rant.

Spidey fans everywhere rejoice, even Daltonio. With great power is still leader, Joker and his marvellous friends (ANE, Doctor Octopus, ect) have a film to LOVE and Andrew Garfileds spiderman 3 to hate. Miles still has his coffee, old posters return after being absent since march, Picard returns and takes over the hype, everyone becomes supreme ruler of Internet. Harryoscop is really confused about what he thinks but no matter what he's happy as everything is positive. JOE continues to rejoice that he not only has a first name as his username, but also a good spiderman movie. Spider knight and avenging Spidey are still arguing over a directors cut and the TASM2 box office respectively, but all is truely well.

Raimi vs Webb fights have slowly waned off, BRAB is slowly recovering from the Hype explosion of 2015, and returns as supreme leader of nothing.

Andrew Lucas returns to the Spidey boards for the first time in years, on a golden horse! Oh wait, it's Airnck! Air nick has taken his true form as a relatively gold horse, degraves finally removes the 93 from his username, he doesn't need it, he's seen the golden horse. All he needs is 1, cause he's number one.

Toby McGuire joins the hype and despite his furious rants about the old days, the admins keep him as he's entertaining for the masses.

Transformers is rebooted and turns out good (lol no)

The hype returns to peace, so much so that the world stops for 7 years, and the rights revert back to Sony

Enter: Hell

Spid4rman: The Ama5ing Venom is returned, featuring a cameo from "poison"

Hell is rising

We can't stop it

It'll all be over soon

What on earth is that sticking out from between Spidey's legs?!?

That's how he shot web back then. They don't call it the dark ages for nothing

Imagine how devastated he'd have been if a Directors Cut came out and was even worse than the original. :oldrazz:

Was just watching a few of the bonus features on the TASM2 blu-ray. I really shouldn't have done that, I got sad as soon as Marc Webb mentioned TASM3. -__-

The world may never get to see Emma Stone make her glorious return to the franchise as a slimy red psychopath while Peter gets advice from his secret agent Aunt May. :(

I actually did not like most of the film's deleted scenes, so this wouldn't be a big surprise.

Yeah I agree. Two of the scenes would have helped the movie a little bit with some of the 'conveniences' that occurred but the rest were either nothing to give or take or would have made the film even worse. I think the one to impact the film the most in a negative way would have been the scene with Richard Parker still being alive and of course him stating the WGcGR line.

Thanks for bringing that up actually, Eddie, it reminded me of a question that I wanted to post here the other day.

Why is everyone taking the emails as complete fact? We all know how much these movies end up changing before they hit the big screen, so I doubt any of these ideas would ever even make it that far. Couldn't they just be spitballing ideas? John Campea said it better than I could ever put it while discussing the hacks. I'm paraphrasing, but he basically said, "I send out around 12,000 emails a year. If you look at just one of those emails, it might look like I'm planning on moving to Chicago. If you look at just one of those emails, it may look like I'm planning on buying an expensive new car. But if you look at every single email in context with each other, it would become clear that neither of those things are true."

So what is it about these emails that people are so quick to believe? Or is it just that they seem to not be sure about what they want to do? Because I can understand that one.

I liked the Goblin scenes and the Peter visits Harry scene.

Yeah, if I remember correctly, those were the two that would have improved things a bit. Peter visiting Harry and then the Goblin scene where he destroys part of Oscorp.

The e-mails are bad because every single idea sounded awful other than the one about an animated film. As for how much things would have changed, there's actually an interesting tidbit from one of the e-mails related to TASM2. Marvel's Alan Fine was sent an early script for the film. At that early stage, the basic "skeleton" of the film was already there. There was always going to be three villains, Gwen was always going to die, Peter was always going to graduate, etc. Most of the big plot points didn't really change very much. What makes this even more interesting is that Sony was warned that the script was no good. Alan Fine told them that it sucked. He particularly thought that having three villain origins in a single film was a terrible idea. That gives us at least some idea that Sony has difficulty listening to reason with this franchise. They get these weird ideas and then force them.

I'm probably in the minority with this but that doesn't matter. My opinion is my opinion. I like Andrew in the role and hope he returns for another film. I'd like to see this version of the character develop further, move into Manhattan and work for the Bugle.

I'm glad you're standing by your opinion! I've been meaning to ask you, have you ever met Anne, or know anyone who has? I've heard mixed things about her in terms of fan-friendliness.

Everybody should stand by their opinion. In general, people should understand the importance of free speech and the right to debate anything - for or against. And I haven't met Anne personally but only hear positive things about fan encounters.

That is surprising that some of that stuff has been in there since the beginning, thanks for that. Honestly though, I'm not too mad about them ignoring Fine's comments, especially about the villains. I thought it might be a little too many when we first heard about it, but I thought they balanced it pretty well. I even thought that 2 out of the 3 (Harry & Electro) were very believable in their motivations and all, moreso than quite a few of the underdeveloped villains used so far in the MCU (not all of them). Rhino didn't bother me since he was just used as a throwaway villain like people have been suggesting for ages. Like you said, I do realize that some of the ideas have been weird, but I really wish the filmmakers would just tell the stories they want to tell without being forced to change them despite the fans (Richard Parker coming back, etc.)

And really? Even as the self-professed Sony fanboy, the animated comedy is probably the project I'm most skeptical of. :funny:

Yay, someone else who agrees. :woot: Love the avatar, by the way!

I'm definitely with you though. No matter whether it's Sony or Marvel do that does the next Spidey film, they really should wisen up and get Andrew back to continue this version of his character. It's gonna be tough for them to get a better fit for the role. I really don't want to see him left at the lowest point of his life and it'd be great to be able to see how he moves on from that point, seeing him working at the Bugle, meeting MJ, and so much more. My fingers are still crossed, no matter how slim the chances.

I see. I was deeply disappointed at the news of an MCU reboot at first, but that was before the emails.....

^ Ha, that's very cool. Here's hoping it comes to fruition sooner rather than later.

Jeez, almost every Spidey fan wants Sony to work with Marvel! do they really have the guts to crush every Spidey fan's dream?
