Both sides have there moments of whining IMO.

As far as the "Tobey vs Andrew" thing goes, I mean it's not that big of a deal who the majority thinks is better. No one can change who you like better at the end of the day. Whether that be Garfield or Maguire.

Fans always have to pick one side or another. I'm not picking a side I just genuinely dislike the Webb films. I would love it if I dug the Webb films beyond Emma Stone and Sally Field.

And I will agree that the "true fan" thing is bad no matter which side says it. I believe we all love Spider-Man as a character, that we love his world. We are all true fans.

Furthermore I won't speak for anyone else but I now try to be very careful when I talk about the reasons why I dislike Peter Parker's characterization in The Amazing Spider-Man series. I don't say "that's not what Spider-Man would do," or the like. I say that I do not enjoy this perfectly valid interpretation of the character for this particular reason, if you dig the characterization, that's swell.

We need more people like that here. I'm dead serious. We need to take a poll of people who are not obnoxious or combative with their opinions and biases. Or, even crazier, like both Raimi's and Webb's films while acknowledging their faults!!!!. Granted, we need the annoying people here, things wouldn't be the same without them. But we need the calm objective types to provide a balm of sorts.

I have my really evil moments when it comes to this war of the Spider-Man franchises. I'm trying very hard to not be a dick though. I don't succeed nearly enough though.

I'd vote for TASM when it's Stone v Dunst but I still never disliked Dunst as MJ. Her and every other characters were poorly written in SM3 though. I have issues with Stacy being too "dream girlfriendy" but I'd still vote for her. Stone is gem and deserves to be the lead of her own franchise.

Being biased isn't a bad thing. If you are, it's fine. I like both series, but I'm biased in favor of Webb's films for the most part.

Just go look at the poll results, it's pretty telling. Almost every vote for SM-2 are from the people who hate everything about TASM.

Yeah I love sm 2 still the best sm movie to me but I also love asm2 and there are some things I like better about asm2 compared to sm2 and even if I don't care or like a movie I can still look see the good things about it. I found last years Godzilla movie to be kind of good/ok and disappoint how ever I thought the score was pretty good and problem the best part of the movie.

I think Garfield has been the best Spider-man we have had so far, but feel Spider-man 2 with Tobey Maguire is the best Spider-man movie we have gotten so far. However, I like to think if Marvel ever gets a hold of the property that they will get someone equally as good as Garfield to play Spidey and create a story for the wall crawler better then anything Sony has given to us to date. Now my opinion might be wrong, but I believe it and that is really all that matters.

It's not like that. I mean look at the critics score or audience reception. ASM2 just isn't a liked movie,no matter what our opinions are.

Well I do think that people around here overestimate just how much hate for the movie there really is. If you go look at the major review sites like Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic, the reviews are very mixed but in terms of both critics and user ratings, there are still more positive reviews than negative. Not by a large amount, but still it's not completely hated like some people here would lead you to believe.
