I felt the chemistry between the two, believe me, but having to take their word for it just kinda rubbed me the wrong way. Their friendship just didn't feel as deep as they were portraying it to be IMO. I'm kind of demanding though tbh :oldrazz:
I guess that building fell apart when Harry demanded Peter his blood. Well, Spider-Man's blood. And then when Harry becomed the Green Goblin. It could be better if the friendship start to crumble in the third movie.

The Peter/Harry relationship was rushed. I liked the chemistry between Peter and Harry but I never believed for one second that they used to be friends. There was no mention of Harry in TASM1 and their friendship was mostly talked about. Show, don't tell!

The frienship in TASM2 went like this:

1. Hey, it's been so long. Remember how we used to be such good friends like 10 years ago? Let's skip rocks together now and become good friends again.

2. Hey Peter, I'm dying. I saw you took a picture of Spider-Man from far away so you must clearly know him. I think his blood will probably save me so can you get it for me? NO?! I hate Spider-Man now!

3. Hey, I'm the green goblin now. Let me destroy Oscorp and head over to the power plant to find out what happened with Electro. And look, I figured out Peter is Spider-Man. Let me kill Gwen for some reason and then plan to organize the Sinister Six to destroy him. This city will never be the same again!

Really, I think that if they had saved Harry's transformation for the third film, we wouldn't be having this conversation. It would have fixed nearly all of the movie's problems.

That's what I think. They rushed into the goblin IMO when they could've developed a more genuine friendship between the two. And then them falling apart would've had a greater impact in the next film.

It seems like they just rushed the Harry/Goblin stuff to get right to the death of gwen stacey.

Yea they should have saved harry's transformation into Green Goblin for the third movie which him killing Gwen once he found out Peter was spider man. They crammed in all into ASM2 to rush into the spin off movies. But I don't hate ASM2 there is some good stuff there despite the flaws. The peter and gwen relationship is strong and her death scene is emotional. Alot of people hated the ending with the kid and rhino but I actually got teary eyed during that scene because the kid reminded me of myself and what spider man did for me as a kid and teen.

not they DID Green Goblin just for that i mean that´s the ONLY thing he does as Green Goblin, they rushed Harry into Green Goblin because 3 main reasons:

a)Chris Cooper is too old to do this franchise stuff and they decided to go with a young actor, so they did Harry instead of Norman

b)to not get angry fans complaining that Goblin didn´t kill Gwen

c)Get a young and hip lead to "Sinister Six"

Going with Harry instead of Norman is such a stupid idea. If they wanted a younger Green Goblin/Norman Osborn then they could have gone with an actor other than Chris Cooper.

i think that can be explained by my point three, they wanted some young actor to be lead for Sinister Six, maybe to cover more demographic or something...

That's a possibility. I guess we'll never know exactly why they went with Harry instead of Norman but it doesn't matter now. I just hope that if the franchise DOES continue that we'll get to see Norman come back and become the green goblin.

Your avatar is absolutely amazing BTW.

if they go with the freezed head it would be rather weird... but if they froze his whole body until they can get Parker´s blood to get the Oz formula to work and get him to be Green Goblin...maybe

But something like this?, no thanks:

and Thanks,

I assume that maybe they will try to make Norman regrow his body with a variation of the Lizard serum? I don't know.

I just rewatched The Amazing Spider-Man 2 once again and I swear I love it more and more every time, despite feeling that way on first viewing. Like... it's nearly perfect to me. I'm gonna be so disappointed if that's the last we see of the franchise. :csad:

Seriously! Why can't people see this? It's Spider-man so we're prone to probably like it no matter what but if you seriously look objectively at this movie you can see that it's pretty poor. There are some great moments in it and great performances but it's full of terrible stuff too. My biggest cringe is the end with all the dumb onlookers cheering "safely" behind stanchions as bullets are being splayed a mere 50 yards from them. It's like IDIOCRACY.

Is any news of Spidey in the MCU dead now? There doesn't appear to be anything going on.

There hasn't been any news or rumors either way for the last couple weeks. We're just waiting for anything at this point.

Regardless of whether or not it was rushed, Harry has no legitimate reason for wanting to kill Spidey. He should realize that his beloved friend of 10 years (or 8, as Peter says) was literally trying to save his life the entire time. Instead, he wants to ruin Peter's life for no reason by attempting to kill the girl of his dreams.

Does that not bother TASM fans at all?

Not really, not to me anyways.

Harry was desperate and they made it pretty clear to me that he was already completely out of his mind by that point. It didn't seem like he was in his right mind or thinking straight at all, if so I'd agree with you.

The only thing that was made clear about his anger or the fact that he was "out of his mind" was that all of it was directed towards Oscorp. They deliberately ousted him by pinning the Max/Electro fiasco on him, and he had a legitimate reason to get back at the company.

Just because he's not in his senses, he decides to take away the "hope" of the one person that wasn't against him in the movie (outside of Felicia and Electro)?

It doesn't add up at all.

I agree. I do think that peter and harry needed more screen time together but when it comes to harry and why he dose what he dose he was handled greatly!

While I disagree and its not that I cant not like sm stuff. I hate and I mean hate the current spider man cartoon but I love asm2 movie its amazing and I think there are pletty that do see this thing that you say why cant people see this. There where a lot of complaints about this movie and that was one of them.

Yea, I always wind up focusing on all the stuff in the film I hated and I forget about the things about it I loved.

Hu there isn't really any thing to hate in the movie. The only big problem is lack of uncle ben.

Strangely, it's the opposite for me. The bad or nutty moments recede to the background on repeat viewings. Max's ranting to himself didn't strike me as forced as it did in theaters, Dr. Kafka and the YouTube Scientist were easier to overlook, and I wasn't that bothered by Electro's lack of usage in the first place. Doc Ock didn't have that much screen time in SM2 either. The one thing I wish they could have changed is shoehorning the Goblin to make Gwen's death more like the comics. They should have either had her die by Electro (it could have worked), or not portrayed it at all. Other than that, I like or love most elements of the film, even Steampunk Pig Vomit.

The lack of electro wasn't even really that much of a lack. I mean I just watched the movie again the another day and at the 1 hour mark is when he gets caught at time square and then you see him again in raven crafte at like 1 hour 16 minutes so just 16 minutes later and then only like 20 minutes later you see him again when harry goes to let him out. In sm3 its like an hour between harry losing his mermory and then getting it back and that drived me way more nuts then electro.
