I'm a bit confused as to how I should feel about this news in regards to the deal happening. Is Pascal stepping down good news? Bad news? Somewhere in between?

I think it can be taken as good news in either scenario. She was probably one of the people that were holding up the deal with marvel and now she is gone the deal most likely is happening.

OR TASM3 is still happening but will actually be handled a lot better now that she will no longer be involved and potentially without Avi Arad too.

it only means that she is not in Charge of SPE but it seems that she might be a producer in the next movies of spider-man

There wasn't any mention of the Spider-Man films in the official press release though. The writer of the article stated that.

Ah I see.

that´s why i wrote might...well Pascal´s gone i hope the new CEO says "i want something fresh and new" and finally Avi goes into retirement or whatever producers do after they don´t do movies...

I'm not holding my breath until I see an official announcement or something substantial to put my faith in. The worrying thing is hearing that Goddard's god awful plans for Sinister Six might still be afoot.

He and Pascal seem pretty close

Spiderman is their biggest and currently their most lost property, so getting it back on track will probably be a day-one first priority for whoever steps in.

Let's hope whoever steps in can come to their senses and realize making a deal or selling outright to Marvel is the better decision.

If they're not doing another reboot at all, I think they're going to try for the middle ground, having ASM3 set in the MCU. It's risky, but so is Marvel doing a reboot.

marvel wants a full reboot, they have no interest in merging the two universes.

Thanks bud. It's been really rough. Wish you the best as well.

I can't believe we haven't gotten ANY news at all and we are already in the first week of February.

thanks man!

yeah, it's about time for an official announcement. hopefully we'll get some news soon....

The "awful" leaked plans for Sinister Six were Avi and Pascal's, not Goddard's.

Yea, the only thing Goddard was the **** you magic tricks email, which while embarrassing, doesn't discredit his talents as a writer and director. I still think he'd be a great fit for spidey, but not with sony

Goodbye, Pascal.

Who's next?

At the very least, this doesn't bode well for Garfield. Pascal was his biggest (perhaps only) supporter.

Man, Skyfall has such gorgeous photogrpahy. Thanks, w/ great power.

Ok guys, theory time:

What if the "scoop" that LR got last month, which I believe to be from a connection they had at Disney, was only regarding the Disney end of the situation. What if Disney knew Pascal was going to step down and formed their plans to incorporate spiderman without sony's knowledge, knowing that all they needed was to wait till Pascal leaves. And what if that's why sony denied the spiderman MCU plans; they simply weren't involved. And so now, it's marvel's time to pitch their plan to the new chair.

Idk, personally it still think it's possible all of that stuff was already worked out under Pascal, but maybe. I definitely wouldn't put it past marvel to plan like that.
