Lifelong Batman fan here. Folks I gotta say Im a little, for lack of a better word, dissolusioned as to why there is so much skepticism in regards to this movie. Spiderman is witty, funny, and wicked intelligent ; Turns out Doc Connors isnt this "villain before actually becoming the villian" that people were (and still are) painting him out to be; There are dozens of Easter eggs from both the comics and (in my view) the cartoon even. The cast, at least from what ive seen from the panels at different Cons, seems to be one of, if not THE most in-tuned ensembles regarding source material Ive ever seen. I mean seriously, Andrew Garfield knows about Miles Morales. Ill admit, ive heard the mums of changes made to the character, though Im not entirely filled in on everything. That said, ive also read contradicting reports (i.e. The "possible look at Spidermans wrestling attire", even though supposedly there will be no wrestling event). So maybe Marc Webb is just screwing with us. I point out that im a Batman fan for a very specific reason, however. When I first saw that the Joker wore face paint, as opposed to what had, by that point, been well established as his traditioanal appearance, and features, Ill admit I was infuriated. I still am. However, I still went to see the movie in the hopes that, in the end, Christopher Nolan would pull out the gotcha moment many of us thought we saw coming, where the Joker would be revealed to actually have been wearing FLESH TONED face paint the entire time. Needless to say, I was pretty dissapointed. In fact I still am. There came a point, however, when I was prepared to let it go. That is until this rift from nowhere came in the form of fanboys who let the DIRECTOR and ACTORS become bigger than the CHARACTERS, which was, and still is, atrocious. Im starting to see the same trickle down effect, only in reverse, when it comes to where Spiderfans stand on this movie. I IMPLORE everyone. Dont let what happened to Batman happen to Spiderman. The last thing I want to see is a division between "Raimi-ites" and "Webb-ites". Please leave that perpetual childishness to Batman fans. Its gotten to the point where Batman has, to an extent, been ruined for me. I have always been a die-hard DC fan. But Ive always admired Marvels far more advanced approach to real world situations regarding race relations, the gender gap, and a multitude of other social issues that DC (Outside of Dwayne McDuffie and Judd Winick, the former being deceased) seems to be petrified of aknowledging. I'd like to think the same of Marvel fans, as I always have. Please dont prove me wrong by falling into the same pattern of foolishness DC (in particular, Batman) fans have. Don't ruin it for yourselves.
