Batman Begins really had the same tone from the beginning.
hmmm it seemed like a crime drama then gradually turned Into a kick ass Batman film for me personally. To each his own..

Even though the Dark Knight wore different hats, it's basic and predominant tone was one of "gritty realism" to match the idea that it was essentially a "suspense-driven urban crime noir a la Heat with Batman in it." And if that is indeed the approach Webb is going for, hopefully that transition from "indie flick" to full on "effects driven superhero hero action movie" won't be too jarring.

I can agree with this, but if Webb has acknowledged the transition, I think it could work out.

That was incredible. The bridge scene has really made my day--so much heart alongside the action. Best reason I've ever seen on film for Spidey to take off his mask. It made him heroic, caring, and the subtle face, like Mike said, after he saves the kid was spot on. That's just amped my excitement up.

I love how the kid is terrified of spidey. Man, that's just so much more true to the spidey lore. Most people are unsure or scared of spidey till they meet him. Love that

Plus, the new suit does look a bit more terrifying than in Raimi's series, so that gives the kid more reasons to be scared, lol. I mean, the scene of him raising his head infront of that thug...truly scary, imo.

Anyone think the previous suit makes Spidey's butt look enormous? It's kind of funny.

I do agree about the mask, as it's the best part of the new suit, IMO. I just kind of wish they made it look like the actual comic book costume, particularly getting rid of the stripes down the sides of his legs, having the belt be complete in the front, and making the gloves solid red.

Nope. The preview didn't do anything for me. I do love the shots of spidey swinging though NY, though. Except the one where he swings down through some cars in the city...It looked kinda choppy.

It's not choppy. It's Spiderman's body reacting to him falling towards the ground at incredible rate of speed.

Lifelong Batman fan here. Folks I gotta say Im a little, for lack of a better word, dissolusioned as to why there is so much skepticism in regards to this movie. Spiderman is witty, funny, and wicked intelligent ; Turns out Doc Connors isnt this "villain before actually becoming the villian" that people were (and still are) painting him out to be; There are dozens of Easter eggs from both the comics and (in my view) the cartoon even. The cast, at least from what ive seen from the panels at different Cons, seems to be one of, if not THE most in-tuned ensembles regarding source material Ive ever seen. I mean seriously, Andrew Garfield knows about Miles Morales. Ill admit, ive heard the mums of changes made to the character, though Im not entirely filled in on everything. That said, ive also read contradicting reports (i.e. The "possible look at Spidermans wrestling attire", even though supposedly there will be no wrestling event). So maybe Marc Webb is just screwing with us. I point out that im a Batman fan for a very specific reason, however. When I first saw that the Joker wore face paint, as opposed to what had, by that point, been well established as his traditioanal appearance, and features, Ill admit I was infuriated. I still am. However, I still went to see the movie in the hopes that, in the end, Christopher Nolan would pull out the gotcha moment many of us thought we saw coming, where the Joker would be revealed to actually have been wearing FLESH TONED face paint the entire time. Needless to say, I was pretty dissapointed. In fact I still am. There came a point, however, when I was prepared to let it go. That is until this rift from nowhere came in the form of fanboys who let the DIRECTOR and ACTORS become bigger than the CHARACTERS, which was, and still is, atrocious. Im starting to see the same trickle down effect, only in reverse, when it comes to where Spiderfans stand on this movie. I IMPLORE everyone. Dont let what happened to Batman happen to Spiderman. The last thing I want to see is a division between "Raimi-ites" and "Webb-ites". Please leave that perpetual childishness to Batman fans. Its gotten to the point where Batman has, to an extent, been ruined for me. I have always been a die-hard DC fan. But Ive always admired Marvels far more advanced approach to real world situations regarding race relations, the gender gap, and a multitude of other social issues that DC (Outside of Dwayne McDuffie and Judd Winick, the former being deceased) seems to be petrified to aknowledge. I'd like to think the same of Marvel fans, as I always have. Please dont prove me wrong by falling into the same pattern of foolishness DC (in particular, Batman) fans have. Don't ruin it for yourselves.

it ain't that serious lol

The kid is about to drop to his death and he's frightened of a guy in a costume? No sale.

i mean SOME dubsteb songs are ok, but that doesn't mean use them in every friggin trailer that exists under the sun...gawd

Um... I watch trailers all the time and I haven't heard any dupstep except a little in this preview... and even this is not that much

seriously, enough with the dupstep complains, they are trying to create a more "sciency" feel for this movie and those small dupstep elements do work imo. And I'm not even a dubstep fan

You know whats REALLY funny? I said the exact same thing before I got labeled a "Burtonite". Which opened up an entire new gateway to slander. But hopefully your demeanor carries over, like I said.

dude its your opinion why should it matter if you get flamed? Think about it, half of those guys that flamed you are kids, or they live in their grandmas basement. Lol have an opinion and stick with it. I may not love the raimi movies but I like to debate with the ones that bring forth a reasonable argument. If they don't well, on to the next.

......Seems like the focus is all on Spidermans ass tho........So I guess things should be fine.......

Lmao. It's always on the physique or the male protagonist look/hair. These forums have more gay undertones then Arnolds schwarzenegger's pumping iron.....and I mean that in a harmless way lol
