Heck I'd probably think he was in on the whole me hanging from my car about to die scenario. :funny:

Yeah- you'd lose your lunch from FALLING TO YOUR DEATH- If you saw anybody landing on the car you'd be relieved that someone was coming to help. It's hilarious how some folks will defy logic just to make a movie work.

Of course, with the next reboot folks will be saying how cringe-worthy this scene was.

How does he know he is there to help? For all he knows he could be the cause.

Pretty sure Mike was saying a kid wouldn't immediately trust Spider-Man. That's why taking his mask off humanizes the entire situation.

Like Mike said if I had just been knocked off a bridge and then I see some bug eyed masked dude I'd be in shock. It's understandable the kid doesn't immediately respond well.

It's just as hilarious to see how much people will nitpick when so obviously against something.

That scene was incredible. For me that feels like spider-man 100%. also loving the overall tone and atmosphere of the film. I think webb has something new here for the comic film world.

You're falling to your death and you're thinking of all that?:whatever:

The kid could have just seen a big green monster knock his car over, and now some red/blue, faceless, crawling guy comes at you. I think anyone would be freaking out about the whole thing to even piece together whats going on.

Obviously, the kid would be glad if he saw a PERSON, which he doesn't see/notice at first until Peter removes his mask.

Yeah we're just defying logic while you're just grasping at straws.

Hi guys,Rob here from Queensland Australia and I was wondering if anyone can help me find a 30"Spiderman figure that Walmart used to sell.A superman and a batman are in theses sizes but I cant seem to find spidey, any help will be appreciated immensely as this is a present for a friend of mine who's a quadriplegic and cant chase stuuf that much. One came up for sale some time ago but the vendor would not drive 20 mins to drop it off to him so out of angry frustration towards the vendor(AKA oxygen thief) I took the task on and have been doing so for the last 3 weeks.....but...no luck, maybe someone here can direct me to the right place or has one for sale.Great site by the way!!!

While I like the idea of this film and the talent involved, the footage itself just looks off. There is this artificial quality to the world I can't shake. I don't understand the use of the obviously false backgrounds during some of the interior shots or why they have the awkward man in suit Spidey moments. They very much feel like "pose, Spidey, pose". Correct me if I am wrong, but they did film in New York right? If so, I just don't understand why they seem to be using a lot of "fake" New York.

The character bits with Gwen and his interaction with the criminals looks so good though. If that is the bulk of the movie, it should be a lot of fun.

As far as the kid is concerned the masked man who just ripped out the back car window like it was a sheet of newspaper could've been the one who pushed the car off the bridge and was coming to finish the job.

If the rest of the movie has as much heart and emotion as the new scene this will easily be one of the best superhero movies.

That whole bridge sequence in the 4-minute-preview is clearly edited massively. Like 4 other cars are hanging off of that ledge in that scene, and here we don't see spidey tackle those. I'm sure there's a lot in between that's cut out too.

Spider-man also probably saves the Oscorp guy and confronts the Lizard.

As much as I can tell, they did some extensive practical web swinging shots in New York, which aside from 3 seconds worth of footage, have otherwise not been shown.

Have anyone seen the (TASM) twizzlers commercial?? I couldn't find the video in internet. It was chessy and cool :D

I'm not a huge fan of the mask coming off but I loved the kid using the mask for strength and Parker's sigh of relief at the end.

Great stuff.

I'm glad that he actually has a reason to take his mask off. Most of the complainers I'm seen on other boards seem to completely miss the point of that scene.

And the thing about the mask is that they wanna show off the actual actor more and with superhero movies, it's hard to do that if they have masks. So they'd often find reasons for them to take it off.(IE the train sequence in Spider-man 2) They did the same thing in the Iron Man movies and Avengers. Sometimes Stark would take off his helmet and even when he had it on, they would often show his face inside.

The vast majority know this. The problem I personally have with this logic is that most times it comes off as super contrived. A superhero who has a mask has one for a reason.

I'm glad that they found a plausible way for Peter having to take the mask off, because I love his facial expressions in that, it really helps that scene

The kid was scared of him, and in that situation it would've been very difficult to save a panicing child, so Peter shows him his human face to calm him down. The part where Peter asks the kid to put his mask on and it makes him strong is cute and for kids that age it would probably really give more courage

overall, the scene has a strong emotional resonance, and I'm glad that they showed it, also glad that they didn't show more. When The Avengers marketing was really big and TASM marketing was really small, after seeing The Avengers, even though I loved the film, I can say that they showed too much, and seems like TASM avoided that perfectly. I hope they will continue with this

Spot on!

Still, I'm not bothered by this scene at all, I think it's quite a good one, but I'll wait for the actual movie.

I don't know why some people are against this movie, I think that this is far better movie than Sam Raimi's Spider-Man movies, I am saying this even though I like Raimi as a director and thought that SM 2 was good movie, it was just not the Spider-Man that I wanted.

As far as Sony Image Works CGI is concerned, it takes some time for them to polish the effects but once they get there their work is as good as any other SFX studio out there (including ILM, WETA).

The CGI effects in Green Lantern were uneven, meaning that some shots were really good, but some looked unfinished, they needed more time.

EDIT: plus this time James Horner is doing the score, I am sure it will be more epic and He will provide a better theme for Spider-Man than last movies.

What Parker did in that scene took quick thinking and heart.

Most action scenes are pretty obligatory or just filler. Here the action is used to develop the character.

My anticipation has increased even higher than before. This doesn't look like the standard superhero movie.

.....its just blatantly, in your face obvious. It's a natural real reaction. lol its not a "Hey, Yayyyy!Go spidey Go reaction.
