Wrong thread

You do know you're in TASM General Discussion & Spec thread right?
Vulturess was the end all be all bad ideas that would have made me not see the movie. I would have literally not given that movie one cent. That was Sony's idea. Raimi wanted Black Cat and they said no. Shockingly, they were looking at Hathaway for Black Cat.
Raimi wanted Peter and MJ to settle down and have a baby. People on here threw a fit over that even though it's the natural progression of the character and comic accurate.
Raimi is a huge Spidey nerd. He is the last person I would see wanting to ruin the character when compared to Sony higher ups. He nailed golden age Peter Parker and he made 2 movies everyone revered and one that was ok after studio interference. To think he was then the reasons behind an awful sounding SM4 with the likes of Vulturess is not Raimi. It's all just the silly bandwagon effect from fanboys. It's funny, seeing all the people on here call others haters for not liking the suit or saying how dumb people on Facebook are for tearing down this movie when they were doing the exact same thing on here 2 years ago. They were the first too damn SM4 from plot rumors but are now champions of something they haven't seen. I would have given SM4 a fair shot, aside from Vulturess, and I will give this movie a fair shot. All this Raimi or Webb sucks is stupid. Then again it's the Internet.

Congratulations, you've just quoted 3/5 quips from the ENTIRE trilogy.xD
I think the CGI for Lizard looks pretty good. I'm not quite sure what those of you who aren't impressed are seeing, or not seeing.
Yeah, no. They've mentioned numerous times how this version of Spidey is a jokester. They're not going to have him quip only once. And there's also a quip in some special footage. A policeman says something like "Who are you?" to which Spidey responds "No one seems to grasp the concept of the mask.".

Of course there are instances where it is fault more on one side than the other but that doesn't mean that directors are NEVER at fault for creative differences and I'm not even saying those differences are bad or good, just saying both parties disagree. Again, forcing Venom into the movie was a bad idea but when I look at the credits, who's name is credited as the writer for the movie? Sam and his brother, thus it's their decisions what to do with the character from a creative standpoint, not the studio. Venom should've never been mandated but since he was, it's on the director/writer to make it work and they didn't do that. That doesn't make me piss on the whole trilogy though, that's not my style, but there are issues I have with it
I agree with Mike that Raimi made far too many concessions.
For someone to be supposedly a Spider-Man comics geek, he completely missed the boat on Green Goblin, the ridiculous MJ/Gwen morphed character, the story being "all about a girl...Mary Jane" and we can go on and on.
You can blame David Koepp the writer, or SONY execs but really, truly the director has the vision, the final stamp of his name behind it and he was okay with taking mechanical web shooters away pretty much right away.
(The first straw on the back or red flag, "Spider-Man Hype's" first petition, and he gave a sad sack excuse in response to the petition.)
Then those Green Goblin suit pics became available on Ain 't it Cool News, and then we all knew this wouldn't be a "ripped from the pages of the comic book and put on celluloid" movie version.
It would be a demographically well done money making machine. It made me finally be disappointed in a Raimi movie.
I saw the movie 10 times, but that was just to see Spider-Man on the big screen. I mean even if I thought it was a bastardization, it was still Spider-Man.
My favorite scene of all three movies was him landing with Mary Jane on the top of the building in S-M1. Raimi got that right. But he got so much wrong.
This new movie looks more spot on from the comic. I think this movie will be better than the first three, and look more realistic (and not just because special effects are 10 years later). Freddy Prinz Jr would have been a better Peter Parker. People assume that he could only do a cutesy film, but obviously he was a huge fan, fit the physique and would have been a bold re-set to his film career. Toby was a strange pic. An indie film favorite, but could not believably pull off that he was Spider-Man, especially when he wasn't in costume, and no that wasn't intentional.
Garfield showed to me he would realize Peter Parker/Spider-Man better from his fantastic work in Doctor Parnassus.
Is it exactly like the comics, no. But we're getting closer and that's all a Spider-Man comic book aficionado of the 60's to 90's work can ask for.
Spot on from the comic? Where is that?
The alterations to the costume.
Alterations to Peter's origin.
Alterations to Ben's story.
Far more coincidental ties between Peter and the villains than Raimi could have ever conceived of.
Far more unmasked Spidey scenes than fans griped over in Raimi's films.
The look of the Lizard is just as off as the look of the Goblin.
Flash Thompson attending a science high school.
And this film seems to be hitting all the same notes as Raimi's films.
Peter is still the shy nerd stumbling over his words with Gwen, when he wasn't that way in the comics.
The relationship between Peter and Ben seems very shaky. The encounter with the doorman at Gwen's building clearly mirrors the scene with Bruce Campbell from 2. Peter's relationship with Connors seems to mirror that of Ock.
I agree the cast looks good. Not better than the Raimi films, but just as good. The action looks cool and the effects seem to have advanced as they naturally would have. But there are certainly issues with the film.

Talking about Sam vs Webb? Typical.
I cant imagine what happen to this forum when after the movie is out
Sam's special effect vs Webb's special effect
Sam's music vs Webb's music
Tobey vs Andrew
Kristen/ Bryce vs Emma
Sam's origin vs Webb's origin
.......
This list can go forever.
