The reason I think there will not be a spidey cameo is because they would not do that before they knew that this new spidey is popular. Right now the GA is still pretty suspicious towards this film, so they would not risk it. The Avengers 2 has a good chance in having a spidey cameo if TASM proves to be great

To be honest, I don't want any other movie references in TASM. I want it to be it's own film, and I think it will be a different feel if there were some sort of reveal like at the end of CA, IM, and al those

I'm of the same thought. I'd very much prefer it to a self contained universe, like Raimi, where Spider-Man is the sole focus.

If they are going the Ultimate route for the Marvel movieverse, it could tie in Parker's parents having dealings with SHIELD or other characters related to them.

Aren't there some liscensing issues here that are preventing this from happening?

Yeah but there are rumors that Marvel/Disney and Sony may have worked out a deal to let Spidey appear/exist in the same universe as the other Marvel Studios heroes when Sony sold the merchandising rights to them.

On The Amazing Spidey Video Game Thread, Spectacular23 was talking about Peter building his web shooters in a warehouse. Sounds very intresting. And I think the scene in the trailer where he's at the docks, I think thts where he finds the warehouse. It'd be cool if tht was kinda like his hide out! Also I think he practices web swinging there with a chain.

Besides a Thanos cameo, Spidey making an appearance in the Avengers is my ideal after-credits scene for that movie. Or perhaps Nick Fury or Tony Stark approaching Peter in the after-credits scene to ASM. :wow:

Nick Fury would be the logical choice since he first approached Spidey in the Ultimate Comics

As much as I'd like that to be true... Keep on dreaming.

Yep. A little more than a week until the trailer allegedly comes out on February 9th.

I never want to see Spider-Man in an Avengers film. Sorry guys, he just isn't an Avenger to me.

Wait, Spider-Man is in Avengers?

If true I agree with Spidey-Fan. Spidey is one those characters I think is best left to it's own unvierse.

I can understand this. Avengers have been around for a long time and have a long history that doesn't really include him (outside of crossovers). For me I only really got into Avengers when they started the Disassembled storyline and started up with a team that included Wolverine and Spider-man (which I love and will defend to anyone), but even then I don't want to see an Avengers film with either of those in it for a long time.

Even though I'm late to the game with Avengers (I may not have been born for quite a bit of that. I'm sorry :oldrazz: ), I believe you have to build up the classic team and show where the Avengers began. I wouldn't even have them in Avengers 2 or 3, because at this point there are still a few classic Avengers and storylines that need to be seen first.

Although saying that if there was a small blink and miss 'gag cameo' that doesn't interrupt the film or ruin the tone etc then I'd be fine with that.

Spider-Man is not in The Avengers.

Anyone with half a brain could work that out. Still people want to discuss the idea, if only to state their opinion on such a thing ever happening whether it's likely or not.

I definitely wouldn't have them in the first 2 movie, but I'd probably have them in the third (if it was possible that is, which it isn't). People need to get used to the idea of Spidey & Wolvie as Avengers, they aren't going anywhere even when Bendis leaves. Marvel likes the idea of Avengers being the go-to-pace for all their big characters & Spidey/Wolverine are the two biggest Marvel characters after-all.

Spider-man is a member of the Avengers in the comics. Spidey was always a character I wanted to see in the Avengers in the comics, and when it happened, I was ecstatic. I think it would be great if he were one in the films as well.

While he definitely won't be appearing in the Avengers film, Feige already said there'd be no other heroes in the film, I think that it would great if he were involved once the rights revert back to Marvel/Disney.

I do agree though, If marvel did secretly make plans to have the new Spidey a part of the MCU, it shouldn't be mentioned or revealed until the during/after credits scene for the Avengers or in Iron Man 3 ot TASM 2
