And since I know we've all seen Spider-Man on Fox or online or on netflix now, watch that last episode or try to remember it: When Spider-Man goes into the reality where he's a fictional character created by Stan Lee, he talks to Stan about growth and maturity and liking himself blah blah and Stan says wow, you sound nothing like the guy I've been writing for all these years and Pete says we all have to grow up sometimes. Jon Semper (the main creative guy behind the show) said that was there to indicate, whether it was cancelled or not, that Peter's journey was over as spider-man. Very similar to what happened in SM3.

I never saw that entire series. I love it, and it sounds like that episode would nearly make me cry. lol

If you got netflix, or hell, just look it up on YouTube. It's either a three part or two part episode if I'm right. Definitely brings his character journey to an end through meeting Stan Lee and meeting someone else important to his past and present. The way the show ended was beautiful. As a kid, I didn't understand really what was going on but now I do and they did it right.

I know we are beyond the topic, but SM3 never had that final swing, showing it was the end.

It ended on more of an emotional note..a swing after showing he and MJ dancing together wouldn't have worked, at least to me. Those swings normally represent something triumphant and the journey continuing. I don't think being spider-man was a big deal to him at that point, he was focused on fixing his relationship

That's how I feel too. So yeah, now on to THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN!!!

When I think about showing the
spiderman films to my kids one day, I debate on showing then SM3

I have a question for everyone and it's something I've been wondering: What is everyone's view of Spider-Man? It hit me when RIM and a few others like myself have said that this movie looks like the spider-man flick they've wanted since they were kids but then you have others who aren't as enthused but still enthused nonetheless. Not trying to start a debate but I think it'd be interesting to find that out because much like writers and directors, it seems we all have our own ideas as to what makes a good spider-man story in terms of style, tone and what changes we're willing to accept.

SM3?

What the film that never existed, what are you talking theres no SM3?

End of disscusion.

I'm 26, hopefully having kids between now and four years from now so I'll probably show them the most current trilogy and at least spider-man 2

I like how some of you are willing to deny your children the right to enjoy something. :D

Oh come one, you completely turned it around.
I'm thinking of it in terms of showing them a movie that really didn't help the trilogy.
If it comes up, ill think "hmm, should I show it to them? I mean, its not great, but then they'll never get to see it"

That's where the "debate" comes from.

If they see it on a shelf and ask to watch it, I'll definitely let them watch it and decide for themselves if they like it but I'm not going out of my way to deny them or make them watch it.

When I showed my niece Star Wars, I showed her all of them. In the correct order of course, but I showed her all of them. Her favorite is ROTS and she loved the Ewoks. It can't be helped, but I am happy I didn't deny her that tragic film, because she enjoys it.

Exactly, its not like its banned. i still watch it for the action sometimes.

You should have posted this first. This was a lot more effective  :)

Probably. :woot:

I am sorry, I just not a fan of the idea of parents denying kids certain films. I am all for understanding the maturity level of your child, but when it comes to the age appropriate films? Little ones enjoy things I couldn't possible imagine liking.

And then I remember that while I watched Batman the Animated Series, Aladdin and Rugrats, I also watched a lot of Power Rangers and Biker Mice from Mars. :O

Man, I remember the stuff I watched as a kid that my mom let me watch it and when watching it now?? I say geez there's no way she enjoyed this. She saw the ninja turtle movie with me multiple times AND the power rangers movie AND multiple other things that I know she didn't enjoy in the least. I can't even get through power rangers now without rolling my eyes.

I'm only 17 so I was just fantasizing haha.
Well this is why I shared my thoughts on debating to show it to them here: so I can get an answer.
And I got one, I will show them SM3 lol

I still remember going to see the Power Rangers movie at the theater. My brother and I were so excited and walked out smiling from ear to ear. Now, I blush every time I see it.
