Deal.

We will have a clear indication of what the future of this franchise will be around that time. If a sequel happens and they hold onto their May 2014 release date, it would have to go into production around that time.

Fun times, ahead. :)

Sounds good.

I hope it's possible Disney could strike a deal with Sony so that Sony has the rights, but allowing Spidey to be part of the MCU. :hope:

Well, Blade reverted 7 years after the last film....as did Punisher.

Punisher reverted less than a year after War Zone bombed (which was released in 2008). They tried three times with Punisher and couldn't get it right. Lionsgate was probably happy to be free of it.

With Blade, again we don't know the specifics. It's all conjecture among the fanbase. Nobody knows the specifics of those contracts that Avi Arad made with the studios.

There's always the upcoming Ultimate Spider-Man show. It's the first Spider-Man show that's being made by Marvel in-house.

They even got Agent Coulson (voiced by Clarke Gregg) to be Peter's High School principal. :hehe:

Personally, I don't really need Spider-Man to be in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Spider-Man as a franchise is more than capable of sustaining itself.

Agreed.

Batman, Superman and Spider-Man all deserve their own franchises and to not muddle with the ideas of the Avengers or Justice League as they're the more memorable heroes. Bats, Supes and Wonder Woman may be the Trinity of DC, but the three I mentioned are the Trinity of all comics, imo. Spidey should never be brought into the MCU because he has a strong villain base much like Batman and Superman that can hold his own.

Look at the heroes in the MCU...they don't have very strong rogue galleries. Spider-Man does.

Completely agreed!

I wonder if this cartoon is what TASM would be if Marvel were making it.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm really not interested in Ultimate Spider-Man too much. Looks way too campy. Then again, maybe it's just the voice actor. That's why I hated the MTV Spider-Man series, more than anything. They got the best guy to voice him for TSSM. Christopher Daniel Barnes isn't too shabby, either.

I'm gonna give it a shot, but so far it doesn't look as good as TSSM. It could still be good though, who knows.

"You're in for a big shock, Venom!"

My face when I heard that god awful line (or delivery of that line, more to the point. The guy who voices Spidey in this show is terrible, IMO).

I did facepalm at that video of him on MTV. He was trying to sound like he knew what he was talking about and failed.

I'd be so happy if that happened. I wait through the credits only to find a scene where Spidey meets Tony Stark/Fury/Coulson.

The only other group I'd like to see Spidey interact with in a cinematic sense would be the X-Men. Especially seeing as how this new direction pulls a lot form the Ultimate-verse, it would be cool to see Peter dating Kitty Pryde.

Although I would like to see him interact with the Fantastic Four as well, since they're pretty much family to him. So basically, I could care less about him interacting with the MCU heroes and just the one's owned by Fox. Never gonna happen sadly.

They did well with the 2004 movie, it's a sad thing that one was brushed away, especially with movies of guys like Steven Seagul getting praised and being similar

I haven't watched the War Zone, all there is to say about it is how that guy looks similar to BradStreet sketch of Frank Castle

Interacting with the X-Men would be pretty cool, and I'll agree to that, but...Spider-Man has a very enriched story that doesn't need to be mixed with any other superhero, imo.

besides which if marvel get spidey and decide to do the origin again (making 3 times) even 'I' might skip the movie.
leave spidey where he is, sony has delivered SM and SM2 so they haven't been ALL bad.

SM3 wasn't "bad" exactly. It was just a soul crushing disappointment. For myself anyway.

But yeah, Spidey should stay at Sony. If folks want him in the MCU so bad they should just use their imagination and pretend he is.

That Ultimate show looks totally lame. PP's voice is very annoying.

Hey, the voice actor in the MTV show is awesome as Spider-Man, everyone who voiced Spider-Man so far sounds good in his role

He sounds ok. HD trailer released?
