I don't know if this has been discussed already, but I hope that if Curt Connors doesn't end up getting killed, he can sort of be a help to Spider-Man in the future. You know, just like in the cartoon and kinda like in Spider-Man 3 when Peter gives him a piece of the symbiote to examine. That'd be swell.

I don't think that can happen if people end up knowing who the Lizard is. I've mentioned this implication before. If Curt survives, there's going to be a situation where a lot of scientists will be looking for him. A humanoid lizard man is something that would spark a lot of scientific controversy and curiosity, especially since the only positive side-effect to the transformation was regenerating a human arm.

Peter could always seek out Conners if he needs his scientific expertise, even if Conners is in jail or rehabilitation somewhere. Would make for a sweet cameo in a later sequel (possibly the 3rd movie, since they always go back to the events of the first movie in the 3rd).
