Isn't that the mermaid girl from H2O? I'm no ordinary girllll, I'm from the deep blue underworld...

Considering he was what SAM WANTED, yes. He would have.

Even though I prefer Venom, I'd rather see a good movie that doesn't have shoe-horned characters rather than the complete opposite.

See, and this is the part that concerns me...say even with Vulture and Sandman, Spider-Man 3 were to be the franchise's last for Sam Raimi...would it have justified as the third movie and the last? And when I talk about that, I'm referring to...would Vulture and Sandman be the "right" villains as the swan song for Raimi's trilogy? To me, the third movie needs to hit it home with having the hero taking on a great villain, as that's what trilogies are all about, going up against a great villain that matches your own level of skills. To me, that's what Christopher Nolan figured out with Bane, with that he is a physical threat, and deserved to be in the threequel more so than Joker(who fits perfectly in the second installment). Vulture and Sandman may have been who Sam Raimi chose, but would they have been enough for the last movie?

I mean, if we were to be given a Spider-Man 4 and the third installment was exactly what Raimi wanted, then sure, with it not being the last "hoorah", it would've been a nice film, but to me, a third movie within a trilogy needs to have powerful foes for the hero to face as it's been done many times beforehand.

Although, perhaps Raimi didn't want to go that route. Certain films try that and fail incredibly, such as with Blade going up against Dracula, the X-Men going up against Phoenix, so perhaps Raimi knew what he was trying to do. Who knows, really. I mean, we sort of know the premise of Vulture being used, but the question is...what would've been of Sandman? Would we get a retcon, or...would we get a powerful Sandman that would've been the great threat that threequels need?

gwen is cute whoever they cast for MJ should be smoking hot, like 'the room comes to a standstill' hot.

I don't think that is MEW. also the actress as well as being red hot (no pun intended) needs to have lots of range, party it girl in one scene and self conscious unsure of her self the next.

one thing for sure is when pete opens the door and she is standing there and says her immortal line the audience should nod and agree 'yep pete, you sure have'.

Sandman would be perfect as the ultimate physical threat and Vulture would be perfect as the evil-to-the-bones mastermind who's using Sandman as his puppet. Would fit great in the last film of a trilogy if you ask me

Does Sandman need to be a puppet though? I think Sandman could honestly handle a movie on his own if done right, so what would really be the purpose of Vulture? There isn't one if you ask me.

But you are correct, Sandman could be that physical threat to justify a third film.

I agree that he could hold a movie on his own. But Vulture's purpose in the film would work perfectly as well IMO

I don't really want to see Sandman again. I thought he was handled pretty well in SM3 (aside from being Uncle Ben's killer and when he turned into the Stay Puft Sandman).

No one is saying we want him again! Some of us are just saying that we'd want to see SM3 as Raimi intended it to be rather than what we got.

Maybe it's my stubborn mind that doesn't really care for Vulture as to why I would have just wanted to see Sandman. If done perfectly right, I think Sandman would've been a fantastic villain to use, as his abilities are amazing and were amazing to watch in Spider-Man 3, besides the giant ******ed Sandman.

sony/sam/arad big mistake (well not in terms of box office) is they tried to up the stakes and go out with a bang.
at every stage of the script they should have asked themselves the cold hard question of 'DOES THIS SERVE THE STORY?'.
SM2 works so well before one scene organically flows to the next,
in SM3 they had to;
add sandman killing uncle ben to drive pete into action
add bulter to drive harry into action
make sandman meet venom in a dark alley for them to join forces

the whole thing is a mess and all because adding venom and binning vulture.

the reason why I am saying this is I hope ASM stays small and personal, leave the big and sprawling movies to TDKR and avengers, concentrate on characters and dialogue.

Yes But that doesn't mean that she can't act. Plus she is HOT!!!

Yeah, agreed on him being good enough to hold a movie on his own

What I like about Vulture is how cold he is, a kind of villain Raimi's previous films lacked. Him played by Ben Kingsley would've been so cool to see, I think Vulture would gain alot of popularity after that the same way Scarecrow did with BB.

So, my attempt at remaking the Set Pictures, News and Videos thread according to what C. Lee was screaming about yesterday was closed, without me even being notified why.

-_-

I didn't close it...another mod did. I just now came back to see how it was doing and saw it closed.

Make the vizeer from Prince of Persia movie a Spider-Man villain with wings

if we're speculating, I want mysterio to be the next villian, the story practically writes itself.

the movie opens with a spidey crime spree

spidey is hung out to dry by...JJJ

enter mysterio

mysterio takes down spidey

peter doubts himself but gwen gives him confidence to put on the costume and take on mysterio again

spidey wins and clears his name

roll credits

I agree! Mysterio would fit perfectly for the second one.

Nope, please don't, I was weirded by TSSM not using this story for Mysterio, but was satisfied they overlooked it, made the episode new and more interesting of his first appearance as Mysterio

I want Peter to doubt himself by Mysterio making him think he's become insane.

Mysterio is #1 on my list of villains I want to see in this series.

With the exception of Green Goblin, Mysterio is my number one as well!

spidey giving up the costume would be a 'slight' retread of SM2 but the motivation behind it would be completely different; humiliation and and a city turned against him. that's compelling, how does pete deal with an entire city that wants him gone?
