whomever they cast as Harry, a lot of that will depend on whom they cast as Norman. There has to be something their to at least create the idea that they're related..Dafoe and Franco look like they could be related

I was against Yelchin for Peter Parker... but after seeing Fright Night, I think Yelchin would have pulled it off very nicely.

The sequel needs to have Green Goblin killing Gwen. You can have MJ in it, but as Harry's girlfriend or just a platonic friend. Because of the Raimi trilogy, these films cannot have too much Harry in them. I would even consider keeping them Gwen-focused and have a second movie with another villian (Kraven or Vulture) before doing a third with her death.

Agreed. I'd say save MJ as the love interest UNTIL the third film, in which he should be out of college by.

And what about official news and videos...? :P

I just think what's been happening on here recently is extremely silly. We had the old set pics, vids and news thread that was closed down because a few people were talking about Spider-Man 3.

*shrug*
Videos can go in the Pictures Thread, since, you know, videos are technically just a bunch of pictures and um....news....well, there is no news, so....

I've missed the big hubbub, so I couldn't really speak to whats going on.

seeing as the villain is lizard i assume most spidey fans have seen the cartoon lizard episodes

90's - night of the lizard
SSM - natural selection

which is your favorite and which scene would you love them to reproduce on the big screen?
Both are incredible, IMO.

I say Ralph Fiennes or Jason Issacs should play Norman.

Stan-the Man-Lee on the set of The Amazing Spider-Man!

Ralph Fiennes would be great but I don't know if he'd go for it. I mean that's not a diss to spider-man but the man just finished playing Voldemort and he's filming a bond movie which doesn't stop shooting until May, he may want to do a couple smaller movies after doing these two huge franchises

If I had to pick though, I'd definitely side with natural selection. Lol the more I think about it, I think I'd pick mostly everything from spectacular spider-man over spider-man. I grew up with the first but spectacular just did everything better to me..writing, character work, VIOLENCE lol...stories, arcs. Natural selection is so good for numerous reasons but one of them is the buildup..Connors' story was built up over a couple episodes and it all came to boiling point in that episode

Agreed. I thought that as well. After a HUGE few films like that,he might not want to jump into another. That's why Michael Bay is so reluctant to direct TF4. He did 3 of those films back to back and he just wants a return to basics at this point.

I was wondering why that thread was closed. I was at a friend's house and didn't know about it till I got back on at about 8. That, and I was too lazy to go find out why, so thanks for explaining it. :woot:

I probably perfer natural Selection as well, but Night of The Lizard would come in at a VERY VERY close second.

A picture with Stan the Man and Avi Arad...

I don't know if I should love the picture...or hate it!

not only that, but him playing Norman would mean he'd have to be in either make up or a suit or whatever for a period of time too, I don't know if he's willing to hop back into makeup and prosthetics after being Voldemort for 5 years. Still a good pick but any great actor would be a good pick for that role

I'd rather the sequel not be in high school. I want to see a progression there.
Agreed. Post high school stories in the comics were great as well as what they did in the last trilogy. I've liked seeing the character age over time.

Agreed. The basic themes of Spider-Man (maturity and responsibility) lend themselves to character progression very well.

Agreed. I'd like to see this franchise due what Nolan is doing with Batman. I'd like to see Peter actually getting ready to graduate college in the sequel. I would like some years progression like this between films at least until they catch up with Garfield age wise.

If they do that, they can get away with having a 6 film franchise. It would be silly to have garfield in his mid thirties playing a college student. It was sily when Raimi Did it (Tobey was 30-32 when Spidey 3 came out) and I don't want to see it.

I'd love to see a post college Spidey. J. Stracynski did a great run that I think would translate well on screen. Have Peter become a teacher at his old school.

A post college Spidey would work great on film. When Garfield feels he's too old, adapt the Miles Morales storyline for the future.

Then bring pete back in a reboot later on.

natural selection is writing at it's very best.

conners take the serium and grows his arm back, his family are overjoyed.

juxapose this with peter holding out helping his aunt with all the bills.

conners celebrates with gwen, pete and eddie. the wife notices the scales and then there is the full on change.

peter ditches the team who are trying to make a cure using his curfew as a excuse to get out

peter saves lizard but has to cash in the picture with which he helps his aunt with the bills.

the lab team are angry at pete for selling the pictures for a profit.

pete contemplates taking the gene cleanser to get rid of his spidey powers and problems but decides people need him even if he is getting no recognition.

briliant writing and I hope the structure of ASM is HALF as good as this episode.
