The Amazing Spider-Man v.2 - Part 2

He's talking about Peter and MJ's kid from the Clone Saga that lived on in the alternate universe title by DeFalco and Frenz.

I figured that.. i was just playing devil's advocate. Especially since the topic started with someone listing spider-girl in a roster, and someone assuming it was Mayday Parker.

I don't think it's necessary to round up all the random symbiotes just to kill them off. They're all in limbo bothering no one.

It would be cool though..... ;)

I'll ask again. Bring Debra Whitman out of limbo. Limbo is a fate worse than death.

Hey guys, mind if I ask, what are the last three issues of ASM? I'm trying to catch up and I'm not used to using Marvel.com's schedule of releasing comics.

ASM 668, 669, 670...or Spider-Island, Spider-Island, & Spider-Island...

Thanks! So, I've read 668. How many times does ASM release in a month, anyway?

She was in Spectacular Spider-Man during the unmasking time. she was selling a book about how Peter ruined her life blah blah blah.

Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man... issues #14, 15 & 16.

I have a question: Back when there were multiple Spider-Titles, was there a particular order in which the stories in each took place in? For example, would the events in issues of The Amazing Spider-Man and The Spectacular Spider-Man take place at the same time, or would one arc occur before the other?

They were pretty much during the same time, like during Civil War or Back in Black. When ever they crossed over, for example in The Other, they were numbered. For the most part I remember everything being tightly knit.

So if both Amazing and Spectacular had their own story-arcs going at the same time, then they were occurring at the same time? What if in one of those stories, Peter traveled abroad, say to England, and the other, he was home in New York City? How would those stories occur at the same time?

its magic you dont need to explain it:oldrazz:

Yup, that's how I remember it as well.

Because he didn't go to England from what I remember. He went to Paris in Sins Remembered (the follow up to Sins Past). He went to help Sarah Stacy but it was made clear he was there 48-72hrs max.

Finally got a chance to read ASM # 670. A HUGE improvement from the previous three issues. Could that have been because there was absolutely no Carlie Cooper? Hmm...maybe? :oldrazz:

I'm serious here, people. I am NOT a fan of Mary Jane...never have been and the fact that they ended the marriage warmed my heart. Now never had a problem with Carlie Cooper until I'd say the past four to five months where it seems she is being forced down our throats. Now if the plan is to make me HATE Carlie Cooper and fall in love with MJ and root for her and want to see her and Peter get back together...then I say to Marvel and Dan Slott that you are truly brilliant and deserve to be toted the greatest mainstream comic creative team EVER! Because that's exactly what's happening! I'm actually ROOTING for MJ. When she got the spider powers in this issue I freakin' cheered. I actually shouted, "YES!". Yeah, me...the guy who has hated MJ since basically the beginning of his Spider-Man reading back in 1993.

So, if this is the plan...to get Peter and MJ back together it's a brilliant idea. However, I HIGHLY doubt that is what is happening but I'm sticking out the rest of Spider-Island to see how it turns out. However, once Spider-Island is over I will not being reading Spider-Man any longer. :csad:

The new DC books have kind of taken over and Spider-Island is VERY lackluster. I agree with runawayboulder...this is not a "huge" event more along the lines of those tiny Spider-Man events in the early 90's and late 80's. I'm also not a fan of Carlie Cooper, obviously, and I really don't see having her stuffed down our throats stopping anytime soon. I'm sure she'll get cured from the Spider-Island nonsense.

If they do go with the storyline of getting Peter/MJ back together I'll probably come back to the book. Or if Marcos Martin returns to the artwork duties...other than that I'm out. Because that's now 8 extra bucks a month I have to work with and I can get about three of the new DC books for just about the price of the two ASM titles. :csad:

It's funny because that's right around when her character progression went severely downhill.

Indeed. Speaking of Arana, how are the sales at this point for the current Spider-Girl title?

There are none.....cuz it's been cancelled for a while.:o

I was saying hypothetically if he were to do so, how could the story arcs occur simultaneously?

Because usually a 3-4 part story can take place over the course of a day. Spider Island for example is taking place over a 48hr span.

Wow! I have read your posts and I'm well aware of your feelings about MJ & the marriage. If this has turned you around, it truly warms my heart, :yay:

Kudos if that was your plan, Dan! :cwink:

But, I'm also sometimes a realist, so I'm guessing that won't happen. :csad:

Nevertheless, I'm interested in seeing why MJ got spider powers so late. I'm intrigued with the idea, I think stillanerd put out, that the reason she didn't get infected was she already has spider powers now, possibly due to events in OMIT and the magic bubble.

EDIT: My 1,000 post! Do I win a prize?
