Man, mark me down for missing the old comic paper. Every time I crack open an old comic, I miss that papery smell... I'm all for going back to that if it would drop these freakin' prices.

I've asked this question MANY times over the years.
And the answer I get is that it WOULDN'T drop prices.
Why? Because the industry is "machined" this way now.
The better paper quality is the norm and to change it up for lower quality paper wouldn't save you anything.

Well crap...There goes my elaborate paper based caper. Time to go flippin' tables.

That's stupid. The machine needs to change.

If it weren't for these stupid prices and double shippings I'd likely still be buying somewhere around 15 Marvel titles a month instead of 8 (5, potentially 4 come December).

That's a shame. I actually miss newsprint just for how it looked and would still pay the going rate for it. I tend to read my comics under a lamp, so the glossy paper glares a bit. I keep having to shift the comic around or look at it from different angles to see a whole page. :csad:

I always assumed the price increase was to better compensate the creators on books, so yeah, paper, binding, etc. never really struck me as mattering much.

yeah, I read mine under a big window. The glare pisses me off.

Today's issue of ASM is going to have a scene similar to the timeline cave drawing from Avengers #5. Madame Web has a vision overload and there's a bunch of scenes from upcoming NOW books.

Today's issue made me very happy! It looks like a possible retcon of One More Day/Brand New Day may be on the way!!

It was hinted that everyone could suddenly remember that Peter Parker was in fact Spider-Man and with the way Peter’s Spider-Sense was being messed with in the Bugle coupled with the fact that they are running a front page story directly linking Peter & Spider-Man along with Madame Web appearing and talking to Peter as Spider-Man in a room full of reporters, it wouldn’t take much to put 2 and 2 together if they haven’t already, and Hobgoblin seemingly already has…

Oh...I thought you meant the Satanic divorce would be undone. Or at best, Harry stayed dead...

Hit by a bus if I were so lucky, but he disappeared into a "new life" to keep his son safe and is trying to stay out of Norman's radar.

He disappeared in the BND finale and hasn't been seen of since. I doubt we'll see him anytime soon especially if there's gonna be a new person in the Spidey costume come 700.

Hey Dan,

Will your big change in ASM affect the status quo of Venom and Scarlet Spider much?

I mean, obviously there'll be an impact, but Flash won't grow his legs back or anything, will he? :o

The Avengers really ought to get around to fitting him with some robo-prosthetics. Giant-Man, Beast, and Iron Man could all easily build him a badass pair in like a day. It seems almost cruel that they haven't already when you think about it. :csad:

What if he is the new person in the Spider-Man costume? TWEEST! :awesome:

There better NOT a new person in the Spidey Suit. That would suck balls.

I can't remember if it was in an issue of SA or Venom but Flash was wearing some high-tech looking legs without the symbiote in whatever issue Beast and Hank neutered the symbiote.

He doesn't get to keep them when he's out of the Lighthouse, apparently. He's still been in the wheelchair in his own series, hasn't he?

There's just that disconnect between SA's Venom/Flash and Venom's Venom/Flash. He's only in two books. You think they can keep some consistency with him. Especially with Remender being the one who established Venom. I know there's a new writer for his series, but even before Bunn took over the Venom book, while Remender was on both SA and Venom, Flash's Venom had some inconsistencies.

Seriously, I don't even bother with those kinds of questions anymore. Like, if they neutered the symbiote, then why over in Venom Flash has 100% control of the symbiote and he's not all kill-first-ask-later, while at the same time over in SA he's still turning into crazy-killer-Hulk-OutOfControl-Venom and is just so ready to kill everyone?
