The Islanders dropped the shoulder stripes denoting their 4 Cups from their new unis. But they still managed to sneak in that tribute. Note the subtle difference between the sticks on the old logo and the new one.

yah I mentioned that back when the new road jerseys were revealed.

As a life-long Isles fan, I am SO happy we are finally back to our true colors of royal blue and orange, and that for the first time since the god awful Gorton's fisherman was introduced in '95, we have a proper uniform. The navy Blue ones form the Yashin/Peca days weren't bad but they weren't us. And dont even get me started on those Reebok Edge clown pajamas that we've been wearing the past 3 years....

Wizards new owner is apparently considering reverting the team name back to the Bullets.

Yeah, Bullets in Washington would be well received in this day and age of fear and panic.

Apparently he wants a few other things as well. Like less of the artificial "Defense" chants and warmer pizza.

Let's hope Ted brings back these unis as well.

LA Kings broke out the Old School Uni's the other night. Me likey. But that could be because I wore Purple and Gold in High School. Major upgrade in my humble opinion.

And Jonathan Quick had old school "Throwback" pads. Nice touch.

Real life SlenderMan!

If you check out the sides of Jonathan Quicks throwback mask you can see the ears painted on it. It's a tribute to the old skimpy mask that Rogie Vachon used to wear.

Reminds me of this Mask Steve Shields wore in Boston as a tribute to Gerry Cheevers.

I love stuff like this.

I don't like it. Not enough skin.

If cheerleaders aren't gonna be showing lots of skin and doing lots of high kicks, then whats the point of having them?

Here are the Providence Bruins and the Springfield Falcons playing dress up as the Providence Reds and the good old Springfield Indians for the AHL's 75th Anniversary.

Earlier today, the NFL awarded exclusive on-field apparel rights to Nike. We spoke to Brand President Charlie Denson, who wouldn't confirm financials, but did drill deeper into what consumers can expect.....

Darren: Many fans want to know how much you are going to change the jersey. Will it be similar to what you've done in college with pretty significant overhauls?

Denson: We plan on changing the NFL jersey dramatically just like we've done with the college programs, using new thinking and the greatest technology available. The NFL program hasn't had the same type of advancement in recent years.

With Nike, it's either really awesome or the ****tiest of ****.

I don't think The Hammer will let them change a lot but I expect hideous and wonderful 3rd uniforms.

can the teams or owners veto crappy designs?

The Hammer isn't going to let his league turn into a fashion show. If there are any major changes, they're probably going to be more similar to what Adidas just did with the NBA's uniforms than a complete overhaul. Besides, it's not like Reebok hasn't provided us with some major ugly over the years. See: Atlanta, Minnesota, Jacksoville among others.

Yes. Remember Nike had the NFL license once before. The only uni they really messed up was the Broncos.

But the NFL Teams control what they wear. They are a multi-million dollar corporation, not some college that has to bend to the wishes of Nike and wear ridiculous uniforms like the Nike Pro Combat crap they've been rolling out the last two seasons.

I can't see the Cowboys or Packers or anyone changing their uni to what Nike wants just because Nike said this is what you are wearing if it has out logo on it. Unless of course, they happen to like them. If anything it will just be more fabric changes, etc...
