Seems that Canucks are doing away with the "Orca C" logo and going back to the original Stick in Rink logo they originally used and have on the throwbacks they wear.

Just a heads up for next season. Although I'm drawing conclusions based on current marketing efforts by the Vancouver Canucks I think we should look to expect the end of the "orca whale C" logo next season and seeing the stick-in-rink third jersey come into full time use.



Why, you ask? First, the new ownership group renamed operations away from Orca Bay Sports and Entertainment to Canucks Sports. Second, the current third jersey is used exclusively in current marketing and branding efforts, including the team website. In fact, the players are wearing this one whenever they do public appearances, hospital visits, etc.
Third, the stick-in-rink and "Johnny Canuck" logos now dominate team store merchandise and team merchandise available throughout the province. And likely the biggest clue are the huge price reductions and promos offered through the team store encouraging people to buy the current orca whale jersey. The ads even say "orca whale jersey" in ways that clearly distinguish it from the more popular current third. Every week there's a new incentive being advertised on Vancouver sports radio from the team store to sell off this jersey.



Will Canucks fans finally get their wish? All signs are pointing in that direction.

After watching a couple games today, I went and found the logos for the Bills and Titans and tweaked them (Yeah, I used MS Paint. Sue me.) to what I think would be a better look for them. I'd love to hear if you guys love or hate them, or if there are any teams that you think need a change.

Buffalo Bills:

I got rid of all that red and that, in my opinion, unnecessary red stripe, giving them a classic white helmet with a red outline around the buffalo and a red facemask. I also changed the center stripe as a reverse of the classic Buffalo helmets, with the blue stripe in the middle instead of the red.


Tennessee Titans:

I hate that they have red in their logos but don't have any in their uniforms, so I just erased the red in the flames and changed the red stars to white and the red in the alternate logo to blue. And yeah, MS Paint sucks (as shown by the stars) but it gets the point across.

Thoughts? Comments? Too much time on my hands?

Buffalo should go with the charging Buffalo on a white helmet (as you made, and as they've worn before) with their current throwback jerseys, or a variation of them. Either way, ditch the navy blue. That's never been our color!

On Madden, whenever I use Buffalo I use their Retro-White Helmets with their current Navy Uni's. It's nice.

Yeah, I've seen those helmets with the charging Buffalo and like them much better than their red helmets, but I can't stand that red stripe. It takes too much away from the Buffalo, imo, and forces you to double take to figure out what the hell it is.

The only thing I don't like about the Bills' unis (other than the helmet) is they layout of the colors, with that shoulder pad rectangle stripe thing. I'd like to see them go back to their uni's from the 90's, but with the white helmet and charging Buffalo (The other changes I added would be a bonus).

So apparently the Bruins Winter Classic uni's will be sporting Brown Helmets, Gloves and Pants. I'm interested to see how this all looks considering Brown/Gold was the original color scheme of the franchise.

After doing an update to the Bills helmet (as posted above) I couldn't help myself and modified their uniforms as well.

I did a more traditional set, with the white helmet/red facemask, the blue that the Bills used in the 90's, with the red stripe down the side that they use now. I didn't have time to outline the numbers in red on the away uni's:

The second set I did is virtually the same, but I added a stripe to the shoulders that starts out square in the front and narrows to a point in the back. I tried it as a modern version of the shoulder stripe the Bills had in the 60's. Perhaps some blue in it would have been better:

Forgive the MS Paint job. If there's anyone who's educated in better softwares and wants to refine these, go ahead. Just so some people don't get confused, these are NOT official in anyway; just my ideas and modifications.

Toronto is getting a few stripes on the jersey hem which never should have been removed in the first place.

NY Islanders are going back to their original uni's.

Philly will be using the Winter Classic jersey as their primary road uni.

Pittsburgh is rumored too be ditching the powder blue alts and getting a new alt, that will have the powder blue in it. One can only hope it's the white version of that uni.

I know that the Warriors are getting a whole new set. As for alternates the Magic are getting a black with silver pinstripes and the Hornets are getting a purple with gold and blue pinstripes.
