Well color and the extra white stipes I guess constitute a throwback.

I wonder if the pants will be the same as the old ones?

Penn State wore some sweet throwbacks the other night.

Kind of like the Red Wings throwbacks from the NHL's 75th Anniversary Season only Blue obviously.

But I like how the helmets have the middle stripe like the football helmets.

One of our big rivals in college hockey. Christ, I hated those MFers. They mocked my mother in the stands I see they still play in that same dumpy arena too.

The Devils throwback jersey they'll be wearing in a few weeks.

Sadly, I'm old enough to have played for their Jr. team and had to wear that Christmas/Italian flag abomination for 2 years before they went to black and red.

Are they going to rock the red helmets too?

They've gone back and forth over the last few years, but I recall players usually wearing their own uniforms.

Interesting little blurb from Uniwatchblog.com today about some NFL uni updates.

NFL News: A little birdie who’s in a position to know sent me some NFL tips the other day. I can’t confirm any of it, but I feel the info is solid enough to pass along, with the proviso that it’s all subject to change:

I got a memo mentioning new third jerseys for the Packers and Colts. The memo also mentioned “updated” third jerseys for the Cardinals, Eagles, Patriots, and one other team (I think it was the Bears, but I’m not positive).
Based on something I saw earlier, I’m almost certain the Packers will be wearing 1929 throwbacks. Those are dark blue jerseys with a dark blue numeral inside a gold circle over khaki pants and dark blue socks. Of course, per today’s uniform standards, the circle and numeral on the front would be much larger, and I believe the style guide showed a solid brown helmet with gray mask to simulate the leather ones some players wore in 1929. It’s gone from the server now, however — I guess I’m lucky I saw it.
The Colts, I’m not sure about. I’m assuming they’re going with a new throwback, because I don’t see how their identity could support any sort of “modern” third jersey (especially since they have only two team colors). Maybe they are going to trot out the blue helmet with the horseshoes on the back.
As far as the teams updating their third jerseys, I have no specifics. … It’s possible that the updates are simply changes in the cut or material of the uniform, which would force retailers to order new authentics for the coming season and would explain the need for a memo regarding these four teams.
Reebok also pitched a program last year that was (philosophically) very much like Nike’s Pro Combat initiative. There were some good, interesting things done in the explorations, but unfortunately none of those elements were combined correctly and some of the best ones were not even chosen to be in the final three options presented to the league. I don’t think the league/teams would have gone for it, anyway.

So there you go — completely accurate, authoritative information. Unless it’s not.

Yeah. The retro-ized Bills uni is mine, not the Peas and Carrots puke Bills uni. I mainly started out wanting to get rid of the stripe on the Buffalo, and then just kept tweaking the helmet til I ended up with the on I submitted, then just naturally progressed down to the jersey.

I tried to make it feel retro, but with modern ties as well to make it feel original.

I think my biggest competition out of those first 35 is that Redskins design with the feather stripe.

According to Thurman Thomas's tweets, the Bills are going back to their previous uniforms. I doubt it, but I mean, it's a new decade, a new regime, we need to wash way the failures that are associated with all that navy blue

I would hope they get rid of those ugly ass Navy's. Anything is better than their current unis awesome:including my design and Uni Watch ). At least they actually made it to Super Bowls and, y'know, the playoffs in those unis.
