http://http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=Atheism
giggs11uk said:The title included that because that was the offical Atheist belief. If you read my posts you will see that I am not trying to start a flame war I also tolerate people of other religions but, i dont tolerate ignorance
sinewave said:wow, there's a lot of stupid things being said in this thread. a lot of you are being extremely rude, including a certain mod that should be above this kind of stuff.
Daisy said:It's about not bashing individuals.
Don't you think that the thread-starter's intention was to bash other people's beliefs? Read his posts. Also realize that his title used to include "God=BS".
giggs11uk said:I agree with you this thread isn't made to bash other religions if you read the first post you will see that, that wasn't this threads intentions
Daisy said:I did read your posts.
And the 'official' atheist belief is not "God=BS". That's how you 'colorfully' chose to express it.
Probably the same number of people professing their religion in the wrong place at the wrong time.. Like a Christian in Afaghanastan, or a ****te in Sunni Iraq. I have no doubt athiests are pursicuted all the time, but because there is no organization behind the belief there are no rallies to raise against any injustice.Wilhelm-Scream said:I wonder how many people are battered or killed each year for professing their athiesm.
cass said:With God=BS in the title, yeah it was.
giggs11uk said:I put that in the title because i knew it would spark intrest it has been deleated and i was planing on deleting it anyway

In any case, It's not that much different than the "Calling all Christians" thread that was up a couple days ago that promptly got closed (and I assume deleted cause I can't find it via search). Just seemed like some double standards to me. Everyone gets worked up when a Christian thread is started and people come in and start flaming...but it's OK if it's an Athiest thread.![]()

Moderators are human. They have personal opinions and are allowed to express them. Their patience has limits. They don't like everyone, nor do they have to. They are not required to be paragons of virtue.
What is required is that in the performance of their duties, they can recognize and put aside their bias, and then act accordingly.
Were I to discipline anyone in this thread (which has not been warrranted) I would do just that.

Atheism to me means someone who's abandoned silly religious doctrine in favor of true morality. Morality expressed by people like for example Kant, Schopenhauer or Voltaire the great philosophers and fathers of modern western civilization.
giggs11uk said:It is the official belief, shortened but exactly the same meaning as the dictionary definition

Daisy said:No, it's an inflammatory way of expressing it.
