Was he the guy in the opening scene about Malekith?
Thanks yeah they didn't give him anything memorable in that movie. He didn't die there and he wasn't in Ragnarok so they can always bring him around if they wanted to.He was they guy who came for Jane after Frigga died and Thor almost started a fight with him.
I still expect a couple OG Avengers to stick around for a bit - maybe Thor and Black Widow.
To me the answer to that is easy: make a permanent sacrifice the cost of doing so. This is how I suspect we'll lose Cap or Tony.Just came home from seeing Infinity War, and I have so many emotions. I really wonder why they can bring back those characters who dissipated in the end, and handle it in such a way that won't cheapen the "snap".
Yeah, Hemsworth's newfound enthusiasm for the character is my primary reason for suspecting he'll stick around. It would be a bit weird if Thor got a 4th installment while Cap and IM didn't, but at the same time, I wouldn't complain. Either way, even if he's relegated to guest-spots a la RDJ, I just don't see him going anywhere anytime soon.
Can you imagine how OP the new group would be with Thor, Captain Marvel and Doctor Strange, though? I want it.
As someone who loved Al Ewing's Ultimates...yes please. Bring on Blue Marvel and Monica Rambeau while we're at it.They have already said they are going more cosmic post A4. They may not feel that OP in that realm.

I like the sound of that. Basically, I liked the idea that's been bandied around that the "New Avengers" or Ultimates or whatever they're called, will be a much larger organization, with different "departments" - Doc Strange, Scarlet Witch (and maybe Valkyrie as a nod to their alliance in the comics) heading up the inter-dimensional defense; Captain Marvel, Thor and maybe the Guardians heading up cosmic outreach/Alpha Flight/SWORD (Earth's cosmic defense, whatever it's called); Black Widow, Bucky, Falcon, War Machine, and Spidey handling the ground-level threats, with Black Panther bank-rolling and overseeing the whole operation from Wakanda. Or something like that. What do you think of the idea of "contraction"?
Yes they said the next phase would go cosmic... They also said this movie was self contained and didn't lead into/have deep connections to part 4.
Still, okay, let's say we have more alien stuff in the next run of films. The team has saved the population of the universe, reversed the culling whatever.
How do you immediately top that?
I am still on the SECRET INVASION/KREE-SKRULL WAR bandwagon and I think that get's to "contraction" while still being cosmic. I think by cosmic they don't me Celestials/Galactus/Elders Of The Universe. I think they mean like STAR TREK THE NEXT GENERATION styled galactic politics. Some focus will indeed be on whole other planets. We gotta see heroes whooping ass on both the Kree and Skrull homeworlds but the meat I think will be more intimate and be about trust and betrayal and the mystery of Skrulls working in the shadows on Earth.
I think that could yield some interesting conflict. How do the team handle a threat that may be hunkered down deep into say, the legitimate authorities? Will they be forced at some point to have to take on cops or military? Regular humans that don't realize the top brass are actually Skrulls? I mean there are ways to use that shape shifting without making a hero a secret Skrull all along.
This would be something based on elements from Marvel's cosmic history while still being more intimate than the epic struggle against a philosophical mad man attempting to change the universe with omnipotent power.

I just have to say, I can't with people claiming Thanos' faulty logic is somehow a plot hole. Newsflash, folks, HE IS MAD. They don't call him the Mad Titan for nothing. This is a guy who truly believes in abusing a child he (legitimately) loves in order to make her into the "fiercest woman in the galaxy." That's how his brain works. "Tough love," is how I'm sure he sees it.
I am leaning towards Thor sticking around now myself. They did such good stuff with him here and I think it comes through that recently Hemmsworth has more fire in his belly for the character.
I think Widow is going to get spun off (finally) into her own series, and... I won't be surprised if it's R rated.
