Infinity War The Avengers: Infinity War The Official News and Speculation - Part 16

I assume the two SB spots will be for Black Panther and Infinity War respectfully.

I'm guessing/hoping the 45-second one will be for Infinity War, since BP is getting those other sponsorship ads as well.

Fingers crossed for Infinity War and Ant-Man and the Wasp. Black Panther doesn't need any more ads.

I swear, Solo best not be getting that 45 second spot. But I think there is a decent chance.

Black Panther comes out a week after the game, prime exposure. Panther will be all over the Super Bowl.

I believe that IW will be getting one of those spots and the other could easily be for The Incredibles 2 (which is out in June this year.) With 4 months to go before Solo's release, Disney is either going to cut it close with their marketing for it or they'll push it back until December.

People also have to remember that the Winter Olympics start up on Feb. 8th, which is another prime advertising window. I remember back in 2014, Marvel heavily promoted CA: TWS during those games and that movie did really well when compared to its previous outing.

Please...if there's any film that doesn't need much promotion its IW.

It doesn't need it, but that doesn't mean they're not going to promote it like any other of their films. It is the culmination of everything so far, you bet your *** they're going to promote it.

Black Panther and Infinity War make the most sense to me because they are both closer to release then Ant-Man & the Wasp, and Infinity War is the biggest movie Marvel has made to date, so the money spent on a SB ad feels more like a wiser investment in both cases.

Usually studios make Super Bowl ads for either the biggest tentpoles they have coming out (so they want the biggest eye balls exposed to them) or the movies that are coming out in February or March. Ant-Man & the Wasp doesn't seem to have either of those things.

Disney has had a trend of promoting their own films during the SB too and not just Marvel related stuff, so I'm sure one of those spots will be for either A Wrinkle in Time, Han Solo or maybe even The Incredibles 2. Now, as for Black Panther it will advertised through other means at the Superbowl, so that's why I doubt one of those tv spots will be for it. Sure, you could say IW doesn't need it, but they still need to create buzz among the general audiences and since their hasn't been any new footage since the trailer premiered with TLJ, now would be the perfect time to remind people. Also, BP would only get a boost in terms of hype if he shows up in the spot.

I think it's gonna be IW and Solo (or MAYBE A&W). And BP ads tied into other stuff throughout the night. The rest of their movies in 2018 are more so family oriented, and those typically don't show up often at the Super Bowl IIRC.

Oh damn, I forgot about A Wrinkle in Time. That will likely be one of them. :(

I'm not the least bit excited for Solo, but even I know they'd be foolish not advertise it. The movie comes out in May and their still isn't a trailer. Even if the first official trailer is going to be with BP they still need to get the word out that it's coming out. Ant-Man & The Wasp is a little too far out to get a spot IMO, and Marvel has never really advertised their July releases besides TFA, bu that was when they were still a part of Paramount.

Oy, now I'm fearing the two spots will be Solo and A Wrinkle in Time.

I'm still hoping they follow the original Avengers model with IW's marketing - where first we had that initial Avengers trailer that teased the big wildcard (Hulk) at the very end, and then we got that epic Superbowl spot that showed us Hulk kicking Chitauri ass AND the big hero shot for the first time. Never has a TV spot gotten me so hyped for anything as that did. This time for IW we have that first trailer that's teased the wildcard (Guardians) at the end, so I was hoping for a SB spot that would give us footage of the Guardians and Avengers interacting for real and some big hero shot again.

Lol I wouldn't worry too much. If the biggest movie of the year (which is only 3 months away) isn't advertising on the biggest television event of the year, it'd be very odd.

I do hope we get an extended one online if there is a spot. That first Avengers one was hype AF.

That doesn't make sense since BP is the next movie up. Super Bowl tends to be the highest rated thing of the year. You want to promote what is coming out now. Ant-Man will get its ad but likely the week that BP is out. Then it also has trailer before IWs.

I don't expect (or necessarily want) one to be for Ant-Man & The Wasp. Its time will come.

Why would they air a 30 second spot for Ant-Man & The Wasp before releasing a full trailer? It's got to be something else.
