who's to say it will be skrulls. i mean if loki is involved why won't he just bring in creatures from the other eight realms, along with frost giants. i mean he did kill laufey and discovered his birthright, so logically he is the new king of the frost giants.

I don't know why there is so much damn secrecy about who the villians are, especially when we are a month or two away from filming being finished? It's kind of odd, and a tad annoying when we've got people supposedly with inside knowledge but are constantly vague and coy when they discuss the subject.

I don't get why this is made out to be a national security top secret. Even Nolan revealed that Bane and Catwoman are going to be in his next Batman movie after awhile, but Marvel Studios still won't freaking tell us who the Avengers are going up against.

We'll know soon enough who the villains are. So far we know it's Loki. It's probably not the Skrulls or then it could be them. I see no reason for Motion Capture to be used for the Kree. They are humanoid aliens. Then again their look could be different for the film. I also see no reason for Marvel to introduce a new alien race when their is enough of them to go around and Marvel owns the rites to all the alien races I believe save for the Brood probably. It could be a group consisting of different species after the cube, which could set up movies for the cosmic side of Marvel. The Poni guy said it's not who we think it is but we'll know them or whatever. It could be a group of different aliens.

I don't think anyone is saying it will definitely be Skrulls. But it won't be the Inhumans.

Yeah, so basically like most of us, you have no idea who the villains are nor of who they won't be. You're setting yourself up for a 72oz serving of crow. Right now common sense is keeping an open mind to any race of aliens from the MCU. You have zero reason to discard The Inhumans as the villains.

I'll personally hand you a crow dinner in a nice big bow. Do your research. If you want to completely change the history of the Inhumans... than sure! they can fit into the film.

They're marvel's 2nd answer to mutants... they are living weapons, no need to have them.

Marvel revealed that Loki is going to be in the Avengers. Just as Nolan won't reveal [blackout]Talia[/blackout], Marvel doesn't want to reveal who the alien invaders are just yet.

Didn't see the "and." I apologize. He didn't say "alien invaders" though!

I stand by my statement though. He's the brunt of a lot of ridicule around here because he says things that are unpopular to many of you. But he backs them up with facts and he sticks to what he says. That's called proper arguing. No one should be flamed for that.

he doesn't get flamed for unpopular opinions. He get's flame for remarks that don't have logic tied to them (like he's still assuming the inhumans are the villain invaders) even when explained.. he still tries to shove his opinion down everyones throats, even when they try to explain to him how that's a very unlikely case. that's when he get's flamed. And if you pay attention, you'll notice that.

I feel like I'm experiencing De Ja Vu all over again.lol

Well personally, given the very scope of this film and how its an HUGE accomplishment in getting these characters together on the Big Screen, I don't think Marvel would just create some random alien species that fits the stereotypical profile that we've seen from invading aliens in the last two decades of Alien Invading films.

I think whoever Josh and Marvel Studios selected, will fit the bill as to why these characters would NEED to assemble together.

Isn't their a group of Aliens working together that had a Skrull, Adam Warlock, Ronin of the Kree, and some others in that War of kings or Guardians of the Galaxy? I was never convinced it would be an all out invasion from the Kree or the Skrulls cause it seems like a tall order for Shield and them 6 Avengers to handle. It would make more sense for a smaller yet powerful other worldly menace that can threaten Earth and be a challenge for the Avengers.

He's said alien invaders dozens of times over the months.
Well, haven't we only just recently started talking about other potential assailants? I mean with this kind of enthusiasm? Invaders could mean anything I guess. I haven't exactly kept up with every post ever.
You haven't noticed the dickface attitude that drips from every post he makes? When Alexei loses the condescension and smugness and adopts a posting style more in line with the good natured feel these boards have when he isn't pissing everyone off then he might start getting a bit more respect.
They don't really come off that way to me, no. He strikes me as someone who's ready for a good argument and I guess that irritates people sometimes. I don't recall everything, but I have seen him flamed a lot on some issues. People are naturally gonna bite back in those instances.

I just like debating. I like it even more when I'm proven wrong.

while that would completely work.. this film has already been said countless times from the reports that There is an "alien invasion" complete with "spaceships" (key word is "space") and the realms of asgard would not have laser weaponry that looked like those guns.

well... green lantern was humanoid. It's very possible it's CG costumes...

Bobby, thanks for the friendly support but its perfectly normal to have "kliks" in message boards. They all back each other up even if the argument they're supporting is incorrect or cruel. I post over in an NBA forum where we do our best to welcome new people & maintain a modus of decorum, but there are others I post in where newbies get it pretty rough - my most recent SHH welcoming posts come from Whiskey Tango who thinks I'm a "dickface" & Spideyboy who thinks I'm a 12-year-old (ironically my daughter's 13). Gotta love the internet, my man, specially this forum where open flames seem to go unnoticed when performed by veteran members. In other news, Chewy is still 100% sure that The Inhumans won't be the villains. I wonder what else he knows...

Amen. We've seen a lot of Alien Invasion flicks. It will be alien characters that we are familiar with. It would seem silly for marvel to create some new race when they can promote characters that have been around for decades that they have the rites to.

With [blackout]Talia[/blackout] I can understand, given that Nolan is seemingly [blackout]replaying the Dicard as Ras plot twist[/blackout], but why the big mystery about who the aliens are? I don't get it.

Well I did say then again their look can be different. The Ultimate Kree or Ultiamte Captain Marvel's suit is perfect for CGI.

Nah, he's just arguing his point. Why make it if you don't stand by it? Even if it sounds unlikely or whatever at least it's conversation. It's in the title of the tread. "Speculating." People get kicked off message boards for being jerks to other people, or actually trying to force their opinion on others. I like having good arguments. I've learned a lot that way.

They wanna surprise the fans I guess. The General Audience will have no idea who these characters or races are. They may just wanna keep it under wraps as to not give any ideas away to a rival production and another studio beats them outta the gate with a similar plot twist that takes the punch outta the Avengers plot. Although I don't see that happening in such a short time frame but you never know.

Dude. I wouldn't touch a sports forum with a 10 foot pole. Kudos!

We need to argue IM2 one of these days. I mentioned it earlier in this thread when everyone was talking about X-Men for a little bit, but I think it got removed. Y U No LIEK?

No idea. Maybe when we find out who they are we'll understand.

Well it might not even be an actual full on alien invasion ;) .

I don't see "The Avengers fighting a vague alien threat that we won't show you" working out too well as a marketing strategy. This isn't Super 8 or Cloverfeild.

I think most of us have had our fill regarding IM2 arguments, haha

well either way the character development of the alien race should be as important as the CGI and loki...as long as the do it with the right backgrou
