As with Dr. Strange and all the movies leading up to the Avengers 2 will have major plot points, right?

Not necessarily since it could just be to develop their own story and then *bam* they need to team up again, or maybe IM3 just has bigger than normal plot points than any of the other movies coming out before Avengers 2.

I was hoping that the characters could go their own way in their solo movies after The Avengers.

I'm assuming IM3 will be the catalyst that first presents the issues of avengers. Dr.strange on the other hand will more than likely be its own thing entirely, not even avengers related I'm assuming.

me too. But with the mandarin being iron man's main villain and most likely the villain of the third flick, I'm assuming they won't just kill him off like all of his other foes.

Grabbing that Avengers panel to watch later

I love that man, glad he was chosen to play Cap, just the way he answered...its, idk, he is Captain America :awesome:

I love that Evans really seems to understand the ins and outs of steve rogers as a character, and he perfectly displays that understanding not only on screen but off screen as well. :cap:

It's a shared universe and it's going to stay that way. I'm very happy with that because it would be ridiculous to set aside the characters' shared history and treat them as if they were isolated from here on out. The uniqueness of the MCU concept and its similarity to the comic book universe are the major attractions for me. Hopefully all of the movies will continue to be interconnected and flow into each other, just as stories in the comics always have.

Yeah, the "...but he doesn't always get it - not out of this bunch" line was awesome.

Probably. It wasn't Thor's hammer coming to Earth, as some thought, (and I think Leterrier said it was intended to be), but then it became Thor GETTING his hammer back.

I really don't think so. There's a good 1,500+ miles between New Mexico & Virginia, so unless the storm covered most of North America the events are unrelated.

Captain America Unfrozen (Pre-2010 Stark Expo: 2 years pass till Avengers?)

Keep in mind Stark Expo is an ongoing event & is intended to run for a full year, so Cap could be thawed as late as early-mid 2011.

Yeah but while the universe is connected, it still needs to feel like each character has their own story to tell without it affecting every other character in the same universe.

One concern I have over a potential "Avengers 2" is over-crowding. This film has 6 leads that I doubt plan on retiring after "defeating" Loki. If a second global threat were to present itself down the line, these 6 characters would be likely to return to the team. Now there's talk of Doc Strange, various Ant-Men, Wasp & Black Panther. So what's that? 10 leads? You'd need a 4-hour movie to juggle exposition for all of them and avoid another Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. Personally, I'm hoping after IM3, Tony/RDJ steps down - opening one slot for a new Avenger. Perhaps Banner will walk away after this film too. These guys have had enough exposure already anyway, so I'd rather see Black Panther & Doc Strange movies instead of Iron Man 4 & Hulk 2. Widow & Hawkeye will probably never get their own films so I'd like to see them exclusive to Avengers films. Same with Fury. As far as the team aspect goes for Avengers 2, this is what I'd go with: Cap, Thor, Doc Strange, Hank Pym, Wasp, Black Panther, Widow & Hawkeye.

I doubt strange will be avengers involved. Just because he's in phase two of the movie plans doesn't mean he'll be in avengers. I don't see why he'd be involved.

I don't think IM4 will happen, RDJ only signed on for 3 as far as I know.

Feige said he would love for Dr. S to be part of phase 2.

Well Strange is currently a member of the New Avengers, so it wouldn't be a stretch. He's been cool to watch as part of a team.

I'm not asking for the shared universe to be abandoned, I just don't want the stories to be limited by constantly building up to Avengers movies. I don't think the films released so far have suffered, but it has to stop eventually.

I'd rather them add classic members like Black Panther, Ant-man/wasp, Vision etc...

Wasn't there a snowstorm about a year or so ago that covered 48 states?

Well one of the SEEN relics in Odin's vault belongs to Stranges world, you never know

They won't, GotG won't be Avengers related.

I wonder how they'll keep the after credits scenes and general hype to their second "event" film fresh when it's a similar premise of heroes teaming up in a group. You can't just have Samuel L. Jackson show up again, so I'd like to see what they have in store. Maybe have Thanos take over the "mystery man" role, working behind the scenes from the shadows or something.

I'm not familiar with GotG but from what I've read it sounds awesome and I really like the different approach to the genre while containing it in the same universe without incorporating too much crossover. That Ka-Zar story could be done like this as well.
