It's gonna happen, so we might as well get used to the idea. The MCU as it's currently designed doesn't allow for reboots anytime soon, so a new Tony Stark is inevitable.

As much as I love RDJ as Stark, I'm positive that someone else can do the role justice, so long as they find someone as committed to getting into the character's head as RDJ.

Think they'll recast after Avengers 2? I don't know, I think RDJ can still be Stark up to his early 50's.

Or they just have Tony Stark pass the role of Iron Man to someone else ? Why re cast Tony Stark ? Move forward not backwards

And then they recast him with Colin Farrell...and I started believing again! :awesome:

LOL, yes let's replace the brilliant Downey Jr with one of the worst actors ever. Good call.

Why would you have to do that? Tony Stark IS Iron Man. There are more than enough stories to tell with him. No need to ditch the character just because RDJ steps away. No actor is more important than the character.

I can't picture anyone else as Stark, that's how much RDJ made the role his own.

It happens all the time. Connery will always be Bond for me but I'm cool with most of the others. Same with Jeremy Brett and Tom Baker.

It wouldn't bother me if he played him into his 50s. Still, the day is going to come where he'll want to give up the role.

RDJ should choose who has the honor of succeeding him. :o

All this talk of when RDJ might move reminds me that we almost had Tom Cruise as Iron Man. That just makes me laugh.

Of course and each brought their own interpretation to Bond, Craig's being my second favorite to Connery.

MODS: Is it illegal to post gifs of the Avengers stinger from Cap's DVD? It's already out in some countries.

I take it you've never seen movies like Phone Booth, Tigerland, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, Triage, In Bruges, etc.?? He had a period (starting around 2004, if I'm not mistaken) when Hollywood tried to sell'im as "the new hot thing" and he was part of a lot of crap; but check his indie work; the guy's a great actor, has the charisma and the comedic timing to be a great Tony Stark (he's no RDJ...but then again, who is?? :awesome: )

Mind-controlled driver?

If he wasn't cast as Justin Hammer in IM2, I think Sam Rockwell would've been a worthy successor as Stark if RDJ ever decided to hang up his armor.

Same here, although I was disappointed with QOS, I think Craig brought the right intensity and physique to the role as James Bond.

Damn, i can't believe that there is no leaked video of the new footages in NYCC. It's impossible!
How do they get that nothing is leaking? Death threats, maybe? xD

Mind-controlled driver?

Either that, or the aliens know how to push a whip, or Loki somehow turns a few SHIELD Agents against the good guys. And judging from Jeremy Renner saying in an interview (that I can't remember) that Clint somewhat understands where Loki is coming from, I would'nt be surprised if that's the case. But who knows.

Probably mind control. For some reason it just looks like he's doing some sort of controlling by the way his hand is place on the truck. lol

For those who saw the NYCC footage: Did Banner and the little girl speak English? Or were there subtitles involved? Not a big deal, but it would be cool to feature Banner showing off his intellect by being multi-lingual, like how he spoke Portuguese in TIH. Also, I hope Whedon made ScarJo speak Russian for the scene that's supposed to take place at some Russian facility.
All that footage sounded incredible.

EDIT: Nevermind. After re-reading the description, it seems the little girl was actually speaking to him in English.

I honestly hope it isn't mind-control. I'd find myself saying, "why doesn't he just take control of *whoever*" Of course, we already know he takes over Selvig, so I may just have to deal with it. I wouldn't mind if they say Loki can only take over those with fear. IDK. Hurry up May:)

Agreed; mind control is always a trick business in any film since it definitely opens up a potential can of plot holes (e.g. why didn't Professor X just have Sabertooth remove Erik's helmet at the train station in order to gain control of him as well?lol)

Exactly. Being able to shapeshift is another thing. I would'nt be surprised if what Hiddleston described Loki "adapting to each hero's fighting ability" is actually shapeshifting into someone who he's fighting. Maybe.
