Xeno pretty much nailed it.
I'm pretty sure Bifrost will still be on the fritz in Avengers; Thor's return to Midgard (voluntary or involuntary....not quite sure which yet) will most likely be arranged by Selvig opening a wormhole ("Einstein-Rosen Bridge," I guess, is the correct MCU terminology) in NASA/SHIELD's Joint Dark Energy Mission facility. And plot will probably dictate that Thor is the *only* one who can make it through from Asgard.

If the Asgardians are locked out in Asgard due to the destruction of Bifrost, it probably won't be for too long because Thor 2 is just around the corner, and Thor must return to his kingdom if they want to explore the whole 9 Realms thing they were talking about. I'm glad that they mentioned about Jane coming back in the sequel, to show that they didn't forget about her relationship with Thor.

I actually agree more or less, but the bolded I disagree with. Being an acting student myself, the entire issue of race for a role only goes as far as appearance when you're casting someone. If the character needs to be African American, they need only appear African American. It doesn't matter if they're half white, so long as they appear appropriate for the role and can act it effectively. The same with the issue of Norse Gods. They have to appear Norse. So basically, they have to appear as a White European would look. That's all that's required.

Not to mention that Anglo-Saxon mythology, is aking to Norse mythology, the same way Roman mythology is to Greek mythology.

He already has an intellectual equal in Bruce Banner.

Yes but their fields are a bit different; Tony Stark more tech/engineering whilst Bruce Banner more bio/energy. T'Challa is more in TS's field. Plus I doubt they are going to play up an intellectual rivalry in this movie thus it's a potential subplot for that one.

Hard to believe there's a movie coming out with 6 superheroes kicking butt, together.

Is it my imagination or did we just lose a block of posts?

Aw, and we didn't get the chance to say goodbye to them either. :(

The underwater FX would be what distinguishes a Namor film from other superhero films. Asgard, as cool as it looked was still common in the sense that everything was still happening in an open air enviroment where people stood, walked, ran, rode or occassionally flew.

An underwater film with characters unencumbered by the need for enviromental gear to survive would be utterly unique. I don't think we've ever seen anything like it in live action.

With the announcement that Avatar II will be about the ocean (and i'm assuming a race of ocean dwelling Avatars) then we are about to see it done VERY well, at least visually.

It could set a precedent for it and show Marvel that it can be done well, or it could just make a Namor movie look like a copycat movie to the GA.

Either way i'm guessing it will have already been done in spectacular fashion before Marvel gets around to it.

Hiddleston promoting the daylights out this movie..I love this guy

I also love that he answers the argument that Loki was a bad choice since he'd already been defeated in Thor.

So Hiddleston is basically saying the threat is a familiar one to comic readers. Hmmm...

Unless Avatar 2 is going to feature underwater civilizations populated by denizens who breathe and exist in water the way normal people do in the air then I think Marvel will have enough uniqueness in a Namor film to distinguish itself.

Thankful of that(sigh of relief). I hate it when characters are created for film when there is a vast catalogue to pick from.

Crap in a bucket, I only read X-Men and Spider-man back in the day so I have no idea what he could be talking about. Anyone here want to take a trip up north to Upstate New York and watch the movie with me so you can inform of who everybody is if I don't know them?

For sure and now who we thought the threat could be is looking likely.

Well I was thinking about taking a trip to NY but not around that time, lol. What I can do is provide two helpful links. :cwink:

Guys, guys, why can't there be more than one female Avenger? Why does Scarlet have to not be in the sequel? Don't you think the choice to be in the next movie is hers, not yours?

I've been all for appearances by not only Widow, but Wasp, Warbird, Shulkie, Scarlet Witch and Photon for years now. At the VERY least, Avengers 2 needs Black Widow, Wasp, and Ms. Marvel.

Knowing Cameron, I think he's gonna try to create a submarine world, filled with details just like the rest of the planet Pandora. He has an entire new environment to play with.

Well Carol's going to be in the "in development" AKA Jessica Jones show, so it'll be interesting how that plays out.

He didn't say that specifically.

The interviewer just asked him if the reveal would please the fans, long-time readers. Hiddie just grinned and nodded. Doesn't necessarily mean it would be someone they're familiar with at all; just that they'll be pleased.

I'm gonna harp on this ol' dead horse again, because Hiddleston keeps bringing it up: "EIGHT superheroes." He's said it time and again in interviews, this being the latest. I strongly doubt that Tom just can't count; and even if he's got some cockeyed ideas of who, exactly, constitutes a hero, it still doesn't add up to eight.

Just the traditional Marvel supes:
1. Cap
2. Thor
3. IM
4. Hulk
5. Black Widow
6. Hawkeye
7. Nick Fury

Marvel heroes, plus SHIELD backup:
1. Cap
2. Thor
3. IM
4. Hulk
5. Black Widow
6. Hawkeye
7. Nick Fury
8. Maria Hill
9. Son of Coul

Either way, 7 < 8 < 9.
what mean "eight" sir :huh::huh::huh:

I think you're reading a little too much into it. My guess is he wasn't counting either Hill or Coulson when he formulated his answer. These guys use the same response to questions throughout the promotional tour. If he used it once, he'll use it a thousand times.

It's true that he might've been referring to a new alien threat with his answer, but that doesn't seem likely. It's one thing to be coy. It's another to misrepresent the movie to fans.

I guess Phil doesn't count...
