Something like this?

To be honest, I have always found myself completely dissatisfied with the end of the First Avenger. I've always thought, that it should've ended on the moment with happy kids playing with the garbage cans.
Steve should've just jump from that SHIELD building at the end of The First Avenger (Ultimates-style + Ultimate Avengers DTV). Would be much better & cooler, rather than just running out from the building:

+ the whole aspect of his revival was kinda quick & rushed, without any real emotions (I had a date) or deep feelings. Maybe I'm wrong and they'll explore this in the Avengers, but the whole ending sequence was just plain wrong.
I disagree about the ending. I thought it was quite an emotionally powerful moment to be honest. Great acting from Evans. He sold the sorrow with his eyes and facial expression, rather than with the words.
Haha! This needs to become a big meme ASAP.

I have to say I really liked the ending to CA:TFA. The "I had a date" line and scene was well done and couldn't be done well in THE AVENGERS movie. The first time I saw it I was a bit disappointed as was expecting something like ultimate avengers or EMH but then I realised what they were going for. It's designed as a plot twist ending for uninitiated vieweers who don't know that CAP reawakens in the present. If you don't know (as the majority of the GA would not) then it looks as if CAP was rescued from the crash and there's going to be a typical happy ending, then things begin to unravel and...BAM...plot twist: he's in the present, 70 years later.
The only thing I question is SHIELD....what were they thinkin' in firing up a baseball play-by-play from 1941? You'd think that the research department would've been smart enough to *at least* pull up a game from 1944 or 1945 (whenever it was)....that's a great big "DUH....dumbass" moment for Nick Fury.
