Well technically you share FF's birth month. I was born the same year the FF came out and I'M older, I was born in February lol

Shadowlord, if you're 40, I'm the ghost of Thomas Jefferson. But I'll give you the benefit of the doubt because I've had the misfortune of meeting men my age as immature as you. Link me to your Facebook account. Don't PM me either. Do it here. Twenty bucks says you don't provide a link because you're really 17. Also, if you do provide a link, I'll need to know its you. I'll shoot you a friend request & we'll go from there. Hopefully you don't manufacture a fake profile just to prove yourself.

Though I'm afraid the only thing this board has been managing to talk about for the past week is apparently the score. Something I find a bit mind numbing after about ten minutes. Don't get me wrong, I love a film with a great soundtrack, but I just can't find a conversation on it interesting for long.

I agree :word:

Thank you! I'll just hope for something Avengers related this next week... or month. I've staked claim on all of November as the Month of Suzanne, so I will take it as a personal gesture of goodwill if Marvel releases something Avenger-y at any point during the next four weeks.

Hey, so who ARE the villains in the Avengers, then? Loki and the Skrulls? Or the Skrulls and Loki? :cwink:

Happy birthday Suzanne :awesome:

*tries to help Suzanne steer things away from the score*

I still think it might be the Inhumans. Maybe Loki brings them here and then they stay on the moon. It did say the "aliens" aren't technically "evil" just being manipulated.

BACK ON TRACK: Is the Avengers a wrap? Are they in post production now? I haven't heard these things officially yet...

And on a second note, how can anything be topping hype for the Avengers on the homepage of ComingSoon.net? TDKR and The Expendables 2 are both topping Marvel's The Avengers... Given the rediculous combo of EPIC movies I thought the Avengers would easily take that vote. Although the other 2 look pretty awesome as well...

Avengers is much more exciting to me than TDKR but Bats is a behemoth in the GA, especially the follow up to TDK. I think overall though its just a lack of recent news. Bats is having all the filming leaks and stuff now that Avengers had a few months ago and was blowing this thread up big time. Its the ebb and flow.

Exactly. The fact that both TDKR and The Expendibles 2 are doing what they're doing proves that buzz of any particular moment means zilch when it comes down to how big such and such movie will be(because there's a helluva gap in the box office #'s of those two movie's predecessors).

wow. why are we talking about X3? I think this movie should never be mentioned again.

ROTFLMAO!

Alexei this is the most fun I've had with you. You are actually serving a useful purpose.

Sadly I don't have a Facebook account. I'm one of the few people in the world whose social life does not revolve around the internet. I will try and see how I can prove it to you; maybe scan my driver's license, passport, or something.

The problem is AB that you have an overestimated opinion of yourself (and your taste). You repeatedly come on a forum where people are fans of certain movies and berate and belittle those movies in an obnoxious and offensive way. Why do you think routinely people get exasperated with and feel the need to hit back at you. What's amazing is that you demonstrate the most basic feature of a learning disabilty in that you do the same thing over and over and expect a different response. And when people put you in your place you play the same wounded and maturity cards ad nauseum. At least have a little imagination and come up with something better.

Wow, did you guys read Mickey Rourke's comment about how his character was treated by the higher ups? It's posted on CBM.

Dude, Alexei thinks X3 was better than CA:TFA.
Oh....
that's like saying Plan 9 From Outer Space is better than Citizen Kane...
unless he's completely crazy, he must do this on purpose, which is something I consider as trolling. either way, let's talk about something sane again...

But Plan 9 From Outer Space is better than Citizen Kane.

I thought he played the part pretty well. It's great he doesn't hold back what is on his mind. However, why brood about it now?

I still like IM2. I think some people tend to get overzealous with these complaints. I'm not saying I found things disappointing when I saw it in the cinema, but it was still worth the money I spent.

Though saying that it is a shame that the studio gave Favreau and Rourke a bad deal. It makes you wonder what a directors cut would be like to watch or even just the bits of Rourke that were edited out, but from what I've heard the studio is under no obligation to release one (see: never).

Personally I can feel a lot of sympathy for Rourke. The guy puts in the extra effort and it must be frustrating to watch the studio not only give him a rush job, but the director too. I can understand if he's still a bit sore over all that. Besides he must get that now and again anyway working in Hollywood, because it doesn't sound like he's alone in that sort of treatment. I think that partly relates to why Sean Connery retired from acting (although that was more to do with the director and not the studio).

Yeah I read it, I understand where he's coming from because it seems like he put some major effort in getting into character.

Yeah, we were going over that a week or so ago (unless these are new quotes). You might've missed it amidst the talk over X3.

Well a new batch of quotes from a different interview were released earlier today.

Everytime I'm away for the weekend I miss out on a fun argument.

I think we're officially hitting a lull with news. Things will probably be pretty quiet until after the holidays.

:funny:
Been gone a few days, don't really know what's going on, but I think that's hysterical.
X3 couldn't hold a candle to Captain America, and most critics and people in the GA would agree with that.
But yeah, Mickey Rourke is apparently pretty pissed at Marvel for cutting out a good deal of his character.
Here's his exact quote:
Well, I always try to bring that to a character. It’s like when I did Ivan Vanko in Iron Man, I fought… You know, I explained to Justin Theroux, to the writer, and to [Jon] Favreau that I wanted to bring some other layers and colors, not just make this Russian a complete murderous revenging bad guy. And they allowed me to do that. Unfortunately, the [people] at Marvel just wanted a one-dimensional bad guy, so most of the performance ended up the floor.

Well, you know, it is f**king too bad, but it’s their loss. If they want to make mindless comic book movies, then I don’t want to be a part of that. I don’t want to have to care so much and work so hard, and then fight them for intelligent reasoning, and just because they’re calling the shots they… You know, I didn’t work for three months on the accent and all the adjustments and go to Russia just so I could end up on the floor. Because that can make somebody say at the end of the day, oh f**k ‘em, I’m just going to mail it in. But I’m not that kind of guy. I’m never going to mail it in.
I completely understand why he's mad, but at the end of the day I'm always going to be on Marvel's side. They're bringing us the Avengers and have done a fantastic job so far of making quality movies of some of my favorite characters, I'll trust their judgement in the long run.
Plus one of the thing's that Mickey brought to the movie that made it in the final cut was the whole bird thing, which I found pointless and stupid. Who knows what else he wanted to do with the character.

I really like IM2, it was rushed though. If they had taken their time they could have really built on the 1st and made a great movie.

Yeah, Marvel Studios has final cut on their films. Something I'm not overly thrilled about.

I definitely on board for the MCU ride, & think they're doing a very good job over all. I don't agree with all their decisions, though. At the same time, they're a very young studio and not everything is going to go perfectly smoothly.

Plus one of the thing's that Mickey brought to the movie that made it in the final cut was the whole bird thing, which I found pointless and stupid. Who knows what else he wanted to do with the character.

Context is everything, leaving a lot of stuff on the floor can make what's left on screen disjointed.
