He's just bitter that he was canned by Marvel and that comic fans just haven't warmed up to his artistic contributions. It's all sour grapes from his end I believe because no one's come to him asking to make a live action movie based on his characters.

Well Fox are supposed to be making a Deadpool movie. The script is done (and it's awesome, it's by the guys who did Zombieland) and it has a director. But ehhh I dunno if it will ever happen.

Only thing being that Deadpool is not owned by Rob Liefield. I believe that he may have created the character but Marvel owns him lock, stock and barrel, at least I think that's how things go when you create a character for a big comic company.

Yea you're right. It is Marvels character. And really, apart from his visual design, not much credit should be given to Liefeld over Deadpool anyway.

I'd find Leifeld funny if it weren't for the fact the talentless d##k has made so much money from comics books. Who the hell ever liked his work for Christ's sake and made this idiot rich?

Glad I missed his 'rise' in the 90's (and 90's comics in general). Can only imagine how old pro's who have been in the business for decades and do know how to draw must feel when they still have work for a living while that cretin is drooling over his Conan sword...:csad:

Thanks to Liefeld and his ilk, a lot of great comics were swamped by the relentless pile of crap in the 90s.

I guess the sad thing about Deadpool is that from what I have read and seen he's a hilarious, irreverent, totally bonkers character and I kind of like him a lot. It just stinks that his creator is so stuck on himself that one can't appreciate the creator of such a wonderful, off kilter character because he's just generally not an appealing, generous, humble person in real life.

Yea, he's a *****e. With an ego to boot. Whenever any character he's involved with, whether it's in a big or small way, gets popular he starts banging the drums and blowing his own trumpet.

I have the same issue with JMS, who I think recently trashed Marvel unprovoked in an interview. I loved his earlier work, but lately, his stuff with DC is, well... blech! I feel there's an arrogance with Liefield and JMS that I can't behind. And as fabulous as he is, there are times when I wish Alan Moore wouldn't do interviews. His attitude threatens to ruin some of his work for me. That's probably an unpopular opinion, but oh well.

I just can't stand arrogance or self-righteous attitudes. At all. Which is why I can't take sides in fanbase wars. I just want to like what I like and discuss it with others. No big whoop!

Thank goodness that that latest Avengers poster isn't official, but fan art instead. As awesome as it is, I don't really want to see any more official comic-based drawings for the movie, at least until we get new material to discuss.

I've never really liked Liefield's work. Sounds like he's gone the way of John Byrne who IS a "chump" too. To ME Byrne's art always Reminded me Of Wendy Pini who did a great book Elf Quest back in the day.

This statement pretty much baffles me in that Marvel has credited him as their main source of inspiration for Thor, and they'd even given him a cameo in the movie. I just wonder what changed between then and now for him to be that harsh with Marvel? Is it because he woks for DC Comics? I just am not understanding the reason behind the hostility.

Man, are you ever into the wrong entertainment medium then. :o

Know what I think might be kinda cool? If they did some posters that were kind of based off of Avenger's comics covers

That sounds like such a great, interesting idea! More or less I don't think this has ever been done.

I know I did some manips of posters months back before we even had costumes for cap or thor. Though mine were based more on covers to The Ultimates

22 and 18 made me piss myself with laughter.

Ah, I see! Maybe with more Avengers footage you'll have some more material to make manips based upon Classic Avengers covers. :D

I want more detailed shots for Virtual Model building.
I'd love to start on the Helicarrier and Quin-jet.

Man, Byrne was the first artist I really got into in the very early 80's during his time with Xmen and Alpha Flight. Used to love his work. As I got older and got more into behind the scenes stuff I started to realize he was class A putz.

Yeah he has a certain Style that seemed to have come out the same time when he frist became popular. Byrne wasn't the only one with what I've Called "FAN Style" art.
Don't get me wrong, he's a very Talented Creative guy, but to ME he was just Lucky where other Artist Like Wendy Pini weren't.
I just can't see why people have to COPY his art style like Liefield seemed to have done early on.
I mean go your own way if you're drawing or even writing don't copy theirs unless it's to help tell a story.

To this day Art Adams is one of my faves.
If you go by non-realistic more cartoony artists for ME it was Michael Golden, Art Adams in that era.
In SOME of my art you can see the Golden influance
