It obviously means that the studio doesn't have any confidence in what they have seen thus far! /kidding

In all seriousness, CA:TFA was doing reshoots in March/April last year, so yeah it is pretty common. I do remember reading constant posts from someone claiming that Cap was going to be a flop because of the reshoots. Good stuff.

Also, back in August when I did some extra work for The Avengers, they took my picture and my information just in case they needed me for reshoots. So these things are built into the schedule it sounds like.

oh ok...thats a relief

Yeah, i would like to say this doesn't concern me but i'd be lying..is it a normal thing for studios to do reshoots 4 months before a movies release..isnt that cutting it a bit close?

Reshoots are usually nothing to worry about.... it could be that a certain shot or two can't sync up with the CGI or someone's hair was out of place or something

Yeah reshoots are common practice these days, nothing to worry about. If the movie sucks it won't be b/c of reshoots.

Reshoots are not a reflection of the quality of the actors/script/director, etc. Reshoots are done when rough edits of the film are completed and it's apparent that small shots are needed to fill gaps or certain scenes need to be reshot in order to tweak dialogue slightly and things of that sort.

Think of it like a author writing a novel, then reading it when it's done, and going back to add/change a few descriptive sentences or pieces of dialogue here or there where they think it's required.

Can't we have a sticky on every Hype forum that explains that reshoots are common practice?

They would ignore it. All things that deal with common sense are ignored.

I just got online and saw the news about the reshoots and knew instantly that there would be panic on the boards about them. Someone has doubtless pointed out that most films (including Thor and Captain America) have reshoots as a matter of course. A rational explanation won't stop the fear and loathing, of course, but it was worth a shot.

Of course not. Its a survival mechanism in some

Relax e'rybody...

From What I can see, not one person has actually freaked out about this.
There was exactly one, calm, question from T-Challa about it, and he took the response well.
The only freaking out I'm seeing is people anticipating a negative response...

Reshoots are natural. Even though I have no faith in this film, I will say that reshoots indicate nothing about the film's quality. Now, the AMOUNT of reshoots? Maybe...

Interesting enough, the first and only thing that came to my mind when I heard reshoots was “I wonder if Natalie will have a cameo then…” but of course since we know that’s not the case; yeah.lol

In any case, point being… I’m not worried at all about it.

lol..yeah my bad, i'm at fault for not knowing much about the movie post-production process..sorry guys :(

In any case; I’m not sure if it’s just me, but even though these characters (Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, and Captain America) are all within one shared universe… it still feels so “new” to see these guys in a film that wasn’t filmed in the same manner and style that their individual films were filmed like.

1st thing I thought of was: "End of credits scene" :)

re shoots are Ok so long as we still get a trailer by friday

Is this the latest rumour?

Not sure; but damnit, there are times where I wish that I didn't hear about this January release date since it's going to be making me anxious throughout this entire week, let alone the rest of the month.:oldrazz:

Re-shoots..

Just kidding, haha. I can honestly understand, especially these have to be the low budget scenes, that if they were to hit the editting room, and notice a scene didn't turn out quite the way they liked, or didn't flow well enough with the movie but still had vital information...to be honest, I like that they are going back, because it just means they'll be adding quality, I can't see Marvel messing this up and I won't be surprised if they become complete sticklers for this making sure every scene is a cinematic experience.

Haven't Marvel Studios films in past shot their post credit scenes during the re-shoot stage?

Edit: Never mind lol.

As others have said, I can’t see Marvel being careless and so nonchalant about the quality for “The Avengers” when they spent 5 films building up to it, and given the uniqueness of this ensemble film, where it’s the first of its kind to have such a ensemble group of heroes in one film… not to mention that if they screwed this up then this would put a BIG damper in their future films in terms of direction, then yeah; they won’t be willing to mess this up.

I know for a fact that the reshoots are being done because everyone found out those spoilers about the Redacted and Thanos are real, so now they're scrambling to change the ending.

:woot:
