I hope all that is true and that we see destruction on a world wide scale. Otherwise the Avengers are just trying to save one city? Why bring all these heroes together for just that? I hope Lokis army is huge and somewhat diverse. Not all the same shock troops. There has to be a real sense of urgency where the whole world is threatened. Should there be a substantial world wide body count?

I don't think this team of 6 AVENGERS could deal with a worldwide invasion.

What could work is that the invasion is worldwide but the point attack with the major force is in NY and then when this force is defeated the rest retreat.

Another way to do it is have a dues ex machina effect whereby an item, like the cube, is facilitating the presence of the worldwide forces and shutting down the cube cause the other forces to be defeated. I hate this though.

Isn't there a scene set in Germany? (set footage of Cap fighting Loki)

Idk; I mean I would assume that the scale would have to be MUCH more bigger than it ever was for any of the characters and the threats that they had faced in their previous films, and Thor alone was shown capable of killing hundreds of Frost Giants alone, while Iron Man was capable of destroying dozens of battle droids along with CA having been responsible for saving the world from Hydra.

If the scale is just reduced to one city, that really would hurt more than helping imho. It all depends though on how it's done.

Yes they filmed some scenes in Cleveland they will represent Stuttgart (museum or theater). It's a pity that they didn't filmed here in Germany :-((

I'm sure the final fight will come down to wherever the Avengers are based, which will most likely be NYC. I fully expect the threat to spread all over the world beforehand, though.

Yeah the Quinjet is in the movie so I'd expect them to use it to do some globe trotting.

I had this sweet ass Avengers dream last night where I watched the movie... I don't think the plot made much sense in the dream but I do know there was a freaking bad ass bit where they found Red Skull frozen on top of a mountain and then a portion where the whole team was split up, with Tony and Thor going to Atlantis and Cap and Hawkeye in Wakanda. I know it was just a dream but MAN it made me excited to one day see some of the great fictional Marvel locations in a film, like Wakanda, Atlantis, Savage Lands, Negative Zone... That would be so damn awesome.

Would be a great image to see red skull frozen. And then his eyes open. lol

Yeah, although for some reason, maybe because of the ice, he was just all blue instead of red. Also, he turned his head really slowly, said nothing, but just like glared at the Avengers and they all went flying off the mountain.

So, my subconscious either created an awesome new villain, Blue Skull, with evil telekinetic 'stare' powers or it simply combined Red Skull and Apocalypse into the one person :P

Red Skull is probably dead, there are many Red Skull so if they use him again they won't have to revive the same character.

But i like your dream's idea

I really doubt he's dead, I mean they showed him getting sucked into another dimension... That 'death' couldn't get anymore comic booky if it tried.

Yeah, he can easilly come back, but i hope they give a good explanation

Agreed. If they had killed him off, it would have been a more memorable and bloody end. Very comic booky indeed.

I definitely think we'll be seeing the Red Skull again. Not necessarily I this movie, but probably a Cap or Avengers sequel. His "death" was left open for a repeat appearance.

I actually felt like Red Skull in Cap's movie was more of an introductory appearance, paving the way for several more movies.

It just seemed to me like more of a "okay, here's Red Skull, get ready to see him more later on"

Thanx for the info.

Can you say what your friend thought of the movie from the screening?
Let's just say that said person wasn't really that big into comic book movies, more like just the typical casual movie goer. In fact said person had only seen Iron Man and Iron Man 2.

But after seeing the pre-screening of the Avengers, said person drove to the nearest Blockbuster and rented Thor, Captain America, and Incredible Hulk over that same weekend. Even went as far as renting Ang Lee's 2003 Hulk coz didn't know better, oops.

Yes, earlier this month.

I posted what was shared to me around Dec. 5th or 6th. I also linked it somewhere around page 4 of this thread.

I wonder if this film will actually go back into the darker territory that Iron Man 1 had shown when it comes to displaying innocent bystanders being killed in the crossfire or attack from the antagonistic enemy. Ever since then, all we've really see in the other MCU films is just really bystanders running around in horror as chaos ensues but never showing any of the devastation in the losses and that it's only been security guards or military folks who were killed as a result.

I certainly hope it does because Odin needs to start compiling his list of sins against Loki for Thor 2.
