Captain America looks so friggin RIDICULOUS

that helmet is terrible.

You can't judge the helmet as a whole just based on set pics and promo pics, they wouldn't have went with it if they didn't think it'd look right. I could just as easily say it looks awesome if I only went by these pics:

I'm in the camp of people that love the whole captain America costume. I really don't think it looks dorky. He looks like a freakin superhero. Especially in those amazing set photos

I like the costume. The helmet just looks weird in the promo shots, everywhere else it looks fine. Even on the toys.

I like the new suit, but like others have said, not too big on the cowl. TFA costume was wonderful though, cowl and all.

Another big difference between the promo pics and the ones from the actual filming, is the color. The poster shows a much brighter blue, closer to the comics. The pictures posted up here in this page are actually closer to dark blue.

That's entirely subjective. Regardless I still haven't gotten an adequate explanation on the ears. If his eyes, mouth, and nose are exposed .... then what is the issue with the ears being? Does this look wrong to anyone with his ears exposed? I don't even want to hear that something could happen to his ears because the same thing could be said about the other areas that are out the helmet.

I have no problem with the ears (tho I think it loolks better with them exposed) but the under chin part looks pretty bizarre.

Even that I don't find that bothersome. really it's just that one new banner shot from underneath.

At any rate I expect my brains will be too busy exploding to notice once the movie starts.

Of course it could look great in the end film but at the moment it looks weird to me. Noone is trying to to convince me that Hulk, Thor, IM, Fury, Widow, Hawkeye, Coulson, Maria Hill, Quinjet, Helicarrier, Stark Tower etc are going to look better in the final film 'cause they all already look almost perfect!

I dunno while people are nitpicking about this mask/cowl, I had a lot of problems with TFA as well. Specifically the freaking chin strap. He's not a football player!

My problem with the helmet isn't the aesthetic (although I agree it shoulda coulda look better), it's simply practicality. Covering up the ears is simply beyond moronic. Even if you assume that it's to house an earpiece radio or something. The simple fact of the matter is that, by doing so, you have just made Captain America a completely deaf superhero.
