It's weird, but the design on the Lego alien's chest looks like a face, one that's kind of Thanos like. Though that's hardly much to go on and can easily be read into.

I still say: this could be it... Pheragots...
Awesome guess!

I can believe it!

According to Wiki they are actually a species of Skrulls!

Among the other races contained within the Skrull Empire are the Druff, Guna, Kallusina, Morani, Pheragot, Queega, Tekton, and Yirbek races. Other races remain independent, whether through treaties or open resistance. Such races include the Clegrimites, Gegku, Krylorians, Wilameanis, and Xandarians. The Skrull-Xandarian war with the Xandarians recently ended with the destruction of Xandar by the supervillainess Nebula.

If this is true then this gives credence to the theory about aliens possibly being a different species of Skrull or Kree. In fact that picture makes them look like a Skrull/Kree hybrid, they have the look of a Skrull and the color of a Kree.

:wow:

Just a few words about the Pheragots...

They are among the strongest of the universe's humanoid races. Each of them can lift 50-75 tons. If they appear in the movie, I expect them to be somewhat de-powered.

Geez, if every member of their race lifts between 50-75 tons they would probably be a little bit too powerful for the current Avengers roster.

They'd be able to kill Hawkeye and Widow in one blow and they'll even be able to lay Cap out with one punch if they manage to connect.

WB, Warner Bros owns RottenTomatoes?
Yes. But they don't mastermind a conspiracy to manipulate the grades of movies from "rival" companies like everyone says when a movie they're looking forward to doesn't get a "Fresh" certificate. That's BS.

....people seriously believe WB has influence over RT ratings and reviews?

No, But , there has been plenty of speculation that neither race is in the film.
I thought the question referred to that .

Might be semantics, but no one has said that neither race will be mentioned/featured in the film. It's certain, though, that neither the Skrulls nor the Kree will have villainous roles (Loki's army). The aliens are based of a comic book canon race. It's not a full-on invasion of Earth so you'll be able to distinguish specific characters who are a part of the regular "horde". Who they are isn't really central to the story but will more than likely take part in the upcoming spinoffs. Just my opinion though.

Can the MCU Hulk lift 100 tons or more? I'm not sure. If MCU Hulk is less powerful than the original Hulk, the same could be true for the Pheragots.

If they are in the movie, then the idea will be that they are just very strong - without stating how strong they are exactly. We won't hear somebody say in in the movie "Wow, these aliens can lift 50 tons...".

There are a lot of things the movie characters can't do which their comic counterparts can. MCU Thor cannot travel between the Asgard and Midgard by using his magic hammer (at least he couldn't do this in Thor 1). MCU Hulk couldn't jump several miles in TIH. So I see no problem there if the MCU Pheragots can't lift 50 tons.

Well, in the comics, the Pheragots aren't really a species of Skrull.

They are a species of their own that happens to live within the Skrull Empire. At least that's how I understand it.

But of course, a movie's version of the Pheragots could be different.

Sounds like you and I are kind of in the same boat, mkilban. I'm not a comic reader myself either. Most I have is a couple of X-Men comics (sorry - don't know what series because they seem to have vanished momentarily in the mess of my room  they were somewhat 'newer' ones though, my sister had gotten them for free with some magazine subscription or something so she gave them to me).

I do, however, absolutely love comic book films - I mean, going back to when I was a kid, I don't think I can even begin to count the number of times I watched Tim Burton's Batman - even though I've never read the comics. So yeah... so far, the MCU films I think have done an excellent job at creating the interconnected universe but doing it in a way that also appeals to us non-comic book readers. I've been able to follow everything pretty well. Like you, I also learn some stuff through internet searching as well.

For the hard core fans, just want to say - the things you say make me intrigued, like when you were talking about the King Thor look - that's why I mentioned I'd be interested in seeing that (because as a non-comic reader, I have no other experience with it).

In terms of spoilers for this film? I don't think I'm going to try to avoid them. Some films I might, but with this one so far - the more I see and the more I hear - the more amped up I'm getting for it. I don't see any spoilers or anything decreasing that excitement because seeing things on my computer screen is going to be no comparison whatsoever to seeing it on the big screen with the theater surround sound. That, plus the fact that I have UK friends on twitter that I know will be seeing it before I can, and I don't think I can bring myself to avoid twitter *lol*

So yeah... just another thought from a non-comic reader but definitely a comic film fan :woot: (sorry if I rambled a bit there)

I agree the both of you... I actually started reading Comics about an yr after the first Iron Man movie because I wanted to learn more about the Marvel Universe. So I'm more about how they interact on the screen. I could care less about who they fighting.... just wanna see them being bad asses.

Spoilers don't hurt me either since I always have to see the final product. I just get real really amped... Like I'm jumping off the walls waiting for this flip to come out so I'm reading everything and watching everything. Still gonna see the flick 4-5 times

In the post credits scene at the end of Thor, when we see Loki taking an interest in the cosmic cube, the left side of his face has been injured. He looks bloodied, I hope we get to see what caused his injuries in a few weeks.

See i always thought loki looked almost zombie-like or ghostly rather than injured or scarred. His teeth were all dark looking and his skin was kinda greyish.

Yeah, looking at that again, I'm not sure it's blood or a scar. It almost looks like mud. Honestly, it just came across to me as a grimy look, not a battle-scarred look. I think it was just some creepy makeup to make him look more...well...creepy.

I've heard some major e-conspiracy theories this year but that tops the list.

Well, it's likely not just a coincidence that RT uploaded all the negative reviews of Captain America first, then waited hours to upload most of the positive ones. And that one of the reviews suddenly switched from Fresh to Rotten for no real reason.

During the same time as WB's biggest release of the year (Harry Potter) and after a major flop (Green Lantern), it's not that hard of a conclusion to reach.

I'm just curious - whatever happened to that rumour concerning Kevin Pennington up for a role in the MCU? Was anything ever clarified/confirmed/denied back then or more recently?

They have purple bluish skin, very similar to a big baddie we all know. Hint hint. Note how Joss was told by Marvel that the film needed specific things and a Thanos cameo is one of them. How come out of all the rumors the Thanos one has not been dismissed by anyOne attached to the film?

People keep mentioning this Pennington guy. Who is he? Is he known for anything?

Have Whedon, Feige et al. even been specifically asked about Thanos in interviews?

I'm pretty sure at least the first season is on Netflix, so i'll have to give it a watch. No idea if the 2nd season is, hopefully they will upload it if it isn't yet.
Season 2 hasn't aired yet. They will start airing episodes in April (DisneyXD). So you have a few weeks to catch up :woot:

BTW - I just saw John Carter and LOVED it!! Go see that movie folks, I want it to make money so they green light the sequels.

I don't even recall anyone asking them directly about Thanos...

Yes, it's just a coincidence. Do you know what would happen if other studios found that to be true? They would not allow Rotten Tomatoes to represent their properties, or at the very least take Time Warner to court for damages, which would destroy any credibility (and income) RT generates. It's bad business.
