I see what you are saying, but it's a heckuva lot easier for Stark to take the armor off than it is for the Serum to be extracted out of Captain Rogers.

Again, Rogers was talking about his strength of character, not abilities. The equivalent of "what kind of man are you?" Clearly in the scene leading up to that, Stark was proving himself to be quite the egotistical a-hole we all know he can be, and Rogers was calling him out on it.

Take away the serum, and Captain America is still a great man who cares about others, treats them with respect, and is willing to die for what he believes in. Take away Iron Man's armor, and you have, well, Tony Stark. Obviously, Tony is gonna prove himself to be just as heroic to Steve over the course of the film, but as far as first impressions go, Steve is (rightfully) less than impressed.

"Take away that Gamma Radiation and what are you?"

What they've all proven including Stark is that regardless of the factor that grants them their amazing powers they've all proven themselves as well meaning individuals that will go the extra mile in the face of adversity.

So, given Marvel's announcement of the Captain Marvel comic..

..and the repeated rumors about CM being in Avengers..

..and the scenes taking place at NASA..

I'm guessing that Carol is definitely making an appearance in her civilian ID (maybe even being promoted to Captain as an fan throwaway line)

And that will help Marvel set up Carol and Captain Marvel as a future film.

Just a weird little bit of timing is all. I wonder if there's anything to it -- the sudden reason for making her Captain Marvel and all.

Carol's not much of a stretch. Poni_Boy(aka Daily Blam) reported a while ago that several SHIELD agents will appear and I think Carol was one of them. Could be untrue, but still.

Hopefully this film and Cabin in the Woods will make studios realize if they just let Joss do his **** it'll turn out fine.

Maybe, and this is a big as the universe maybe, Fox might be willing to let Joss continue Firefly? Or (this is more likely, but still a big stretch), that Disney will be willing to buy it? I mean, ABC is clearly trying to get a teenage demographic, which is why their making the Marvel pilots.

It's too big to hope for, but still...if it does well enough, money talks.

I'd agree with this, we could be seeing the repercussions of what Steve says to Tony in IM3 if the latest rumours are true.

If Tony ends up with the Extremis infecting him then the armour will become him so it can't be taken away, reinforcing Tony's line from Iron Man.... "I am Iron Man".

It may have already been mentioned, but it looks like The Avengers TV Spots are going to start tonight. It's not mentioned which show(s) it/they will be attached to. From Twitter....

Notice they didn't say "TV Spot," they said "the latest trailer." I remember that one time on NBC (during the NFL Honors awards show), they showed the entire first trailer for the Avengers completely unannounced during a commercial break. Maybe they're gonna do the same tonight during "The Voice"? Or if we go with Disney, ABC's showing "The Bachelor." According to my DVR, tonight is that show's season finale. So one of those is where I'd imagine would show up. Those are the two highest-rated shows of Monday nights ("The Voice" being the highest), so that's where it would be seen by the most people, which is kind of the point.

IF the rumors are true for the potential plot for Iron Man 3, another thing from “The Avengers” that I could see having influenced Tony’s decision is during his confrontation with Loki at Star Tower, where he was somewhat physically helpless since the scene ends with him being thrown out of the window. Unlike Thor, Captain America, and Hulk, Tony needs time to find and get into one of is armored suits whenever confronting a foe where as the remaining three don’t need as much time to get into battle mode.

Actually Thor is still a super strong Asgardian without his hammer and we've seen that he can tear through government agent seven in mortal form.

Black Widow is also still a highly trained fighter without her gadgets and so is Hawkeye if I'm not mistaken.

The whole point was, "take away your ablities, what are you?" Regardless of whatever the source of those abilities may be. You could apply that question to ANY of them, and yes, they'd all have different answers, but none of those answers would be "he still has strength" or "she still has training" because the point of that hypothetical was, no, they wouldn't.

simple and bland? WHA? I don't see how. I thought they were deep and well-choreographed, and really worked to show why the team is at their best when they fight as one

Nah that weren't that deep, most of the fights consisted of the team taking turns attacking an enemy only for each of them to be swatted away.

Some of the action scenes were good though, it's just that they could'vebeen a whole lot better.

The whole point was, "take away your ablities, what are you?" Regardless of whatever the source of those abilities may be.

We still haven't seen that scene within the context of the film so we don't know if that's really what Cap was talking about.
