It certainly looks alot better than I ever thought a film based on "Battleship" could look.

Two people I know have seen it and said it's not the trainwreck that most expect. Light fun with great effects and a decent story. Popcorn flick

john carter is at least getting good word of mouth isn't it? i thought it had decent reviews.. and the people whom i know has seen it, liked it. So who knows.. its still has time for word of mouth (or future cult classic)

Yeah maybe GL was a better example for the point I was making, because John Carter is getting good word of mouth.

For some reason I never thought it would be as bad as people say will be, it looks like a fairly entertaining popcorn flick.

Everyone I knew that watched Green Lantern and was into that type of movie enjoyed it, me included.

haven't been on these boards much have ya? There were alot of GL fans, and superhero genre fans on here who hated it.

Didn't hate it, didn't love it either. It had some good parts, but the script was lousy and overall it felt like a TV movie.

Personally I thought it was okay, but I was just saying the general consensus seems to be it's a pretty bad film and I was also talking about B.O. performance.

I'm waiting for the trailer to be shown on the television.

I'm waiting for the trailer to be shown on the television.

I saw it twice last night!
...And I'm not talkin a 30 second spot, Comedy Central played the whole 2 minute she-bang

The first time was hilarious too, it was the episode of South Park where they have to sit through the Russel Crow show to see a Terrance and Philip movie trailer. During the final commercial break where the boys were waiting for it, they played the Avengers trailer.

I lol'd

The second was just on during the Daily Show.

I'm looking out for it. Though I feel when it happens I'll go into coma...

A new little snippet from another Joss interview, I'm trying to leave the link but it keeps censoring it...

Having such a wide variety of characters, initially Whedon sought focus by telling th story largely from one person's perspective; defrosted WW2 super-soldier Captain America. "That was the plan anyway". However, "In the final cut that's probably not true," Whedon reveals. "There was stuff with Cap I cut out. Although he has an 'in' with the audience in that this world is stranger to him, so he's an identification figure."

The climax Whedon pitched Marvel was so enormous that it was apparent there wouldn't be enough time or money to pull it off, "But that's exactly what we shot," he reveals. The scale is "quite large", but it's not about that. "Its the toll it takes," Whedon says. "I find superhero movies to be a little to [dull?]. And when you have Earth's mightiest heroes - like Thor, you know Thor! - you have to put them in a situation that makes you feel like they're not all going to make it." "The climax of this movie isn't one where you go, 'Oh yes, there's the Avengers, good for them, bye!'" When it all hits, it hits hard."

Whedon then went on to discuss The Avengers potential sequel, essentially revealing that he went all-out to avoid Iron Man 2 syndrome, where the story's reduced to a series of sequel-pointers. "We DO give a nod to a greater problem than the one solved in this film." says Whedon. "I'm a great believer in the idea that if you make the first one to be a 'first one,' then you have already failed," asserts Whedon. "As much as we want to service the idea of a film in a franchise, I want this to be a satisfying film experience. I don't want people to go out saying, "When's the next part?" I want people to say, "Oh, I want to see that again!"

Was just about to repost. We can't link to Comic book movie over here. But anyhow, there's some great stuff in the latest Total Film mag. I was sent scans, but I can't make out the rest.

Although, I an read Evans saying: "Cap and Tony work as a team, and problem solve in very different ways"

I'm really looking forward to hearing this films score, it better be as epic as a film like this calls for.

I actually heard a few fan made ones that sound awesome, including this one:

Has a epic feel to it, also sounds a bit like Kick-Ass.

Adult Swim showed the entire trailer last night as well. It was incredible.

It seems this film wont be from Cap's POV as much as we were lead to believe, that's good to hear since I'm sure a good bit of the film is going to be from his POV while making it a bit more even among the cast.

I was kinda upset to hear that alot of cap stuff was cut out. But if its better for the film, I'm okay

Yep, that's what I figured.

Ditto. I thought the film being from his POV would have been perfect. Oh well, as long as Cap doesn't get the short end of the stick in the final product, I'll be happy.

I'm pretty happy that he still seems to be the films connection to the audience though. He is the most human of them all
