Since the movie is coming out overseas before the U.S. theres a good chance the movie will be pirated pretty heavily. Is there anyone here who would ruin their theater experience by watching it low-res on a computer screen first?

I'd be sorely tempted, but no. The Avengers needs to be experienced for the first time in theatres. I'll wait

Agreed; I mean don't get me wrong, it's not that I'm demanding for Romance or for Whedon to cater to a certain group of fans.

It just bugs the heck out of me when major plot points from previous films aren't addressed when we see those characters again, which in turn, feels like it diminishes the impact of the plot point if it's not addressed at all.

To each their own ..... but try not to get too worked up over it before you see the actual film.

Personally I could give two craps if Jane Foster actually appears because I know I'm gonna see her in the Thor sequel. I'm fully expecting a quick mention of her and all will be well. There's too much other cool stuff going on for me to even care.

Hell no.

I would never even think of it.

Heck no. I'm even going to avoid the internet in general to avoid spoilers/reviews from my overseas friends/people I stalk on tumblr.

Avatar and HP8 were pirated heavily too, and they still made tons of money.

Not a chance in hell. Especially after seeing the trailer in 3D. Thank god for the money Disney has because the 3D actually looked pretty damn good for being done post conversion.

Yeah I wouldn't dare dream of it. Its bad enough I've seen so much footage already. I'm going to avoid most sites the week before the film comes out.

Probably best not to talk about them. A argument will get started and the mods will show up and smite down all involved.

So how about that new Avengers trailer? I love that Black Widow and Hawkeye are in the quinjet shooting at the aliens. Shuts up those people who say what can Widow do against a army of aliens. But we already know the quinjet gets shot down in the middle of new york(the opening shots of trailer #2) so it doesn't go too well for them.

I've been waiting to see this on screen since I first read old Nick Fury Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. COMICS when I was a kid. It totally lives up to expectations.

haha; indeed. Well, as long as she gets a mention, then I'm good regarding that dept.lol

Yeps. I'm still hoping that we'll get to at least see Loki's army have dialogue or talk somewhat and that they're not just presented as mindless drones doing his will.

I can actually hear the theme music from Stark Trek (2009) for the scene when we first see Kirk going to the Enterprise in space.

The score is going to need to be AMAZINGLY EPIC in this shot.

Norse mythology dates back to around the time stated at the beginning of Thor. In fact it was not really recorded until around the 11th century (in the Eddas I think), but it's safe to assume it began before that (the basic ideas of Asgard, Odin etc, were likely around in some form and passed on orally before the mythology was recorded).

There are definitely written records before the 11th century.

The Old Saxon Baptismal Vow is from the 8th or 9th century. One line says:

"I renounce all the deeds and words of the devil, Thunear (Old Saxon for Thor), Wōden (Old Saxon for Odin) and Saxnōt, and all those fiends that are their companions'"

In 723, missionary Boniface hit down the Donar Oak ("Thor's Oak"), a sacred tree of Thor worshipped by the Germanic tribe of the Chatti.

And if I'm not wrong, Norway' skaldic poetry has stories of Thor already in the 9th century.

Indeed;

I wonder if they're going to establish as to whether it'll be the first time in "The Avengers" that the Hellcarrier takes flight. I just can't imagine that something like that would have been in the air the entire time throughout the timeline of the previous Marvel films that took place in the present.

Its completely plausible if the helicarrier has a invisibility cloak and stealth technology.

Love the new footage in that Japanese trailer. Cobie finally gets some face time! Even a line!

Placed it on the 100 Day Countdown but,

50 Days left in America motha ****ers!
