I know what joss said, but how can we explain the skrulls in the board game? I think that the aliens look a bit like Kree.
The figures from that board game look nothing like the aliens in the movie anyway

Heart breaking would be having fury tell Thor that they will take him to Jane after Loki is done with. Then when the movie is ending he sees Jane on a date with some guy (we only see back of her head). Thor gets sad. Fury tells him that it took her a long time to move on and she thought Thor was lost forever.

Doubtful since Kevin Feige said that one of the things that would be highlighted in "Thor 2" would be further developing their relationship with each other.

Anyways, one thing that I've noticed is that from all of the shots that we've seen of the Aliens thus far, it's been mainly group of foes; the ones that some mistake into being Frost Giants or things that look like them. I wonder if Loki's army is just comprised of that race.

I'm thinking the same thing, it might be just one race- the 3 toed baddies with the metal visors. I haven't seen any of them using the Kree-looking weapons we saw from the set pics though.

I'm not listening, I'm not listening...! The next month and a half is gonna be rough.

That's if Portman even wants to be in Thor 2.

Either way, afterwards show the whole thing to be an Odin or LMD trick.
Or he sees Jane but knows he has to leave and thinks she deserves something permanent and he leaves without talking to her.

Hell a scene of selvig on the phone would suffice.
"I don't.know Jane, he just got here.....you know I can't say where here is....because agent Coulson is right next to me...yes that pompous son of a bit...(looks up at Coulson and smiles) she says hi.....Jane I got to go they are.about to question him"

Anybody think that in the first half of the Japanese trailer the score used is the one Silvestri composed?

I don't really get all the Iron Man 2.5 thing (other than RDJ being top billed), from the trailers I get more of a vibe its more about Thor and Loki than anyone else, which would make sense.

Natalie Portman was confirmed by Marvel Studios to be returning alongside Chris and Tom for the sequel when it was officially announced.

Like some have said, it's either likely that either Selvig or Coulson (should the scene not have been cut from the theatrical cut) will tell Thor on what happened to Jane since he left.

Anyways, if the park scene is supposedly the final scene for the film, I can see on how that fits with Whedon's desire to make a movie where people focus on the journey that takes place within it instead of just using it as another springboard for future sequels.

Like some have said, the Avengers will serve as a nice closure to the first chapter/phase of the MCU stories.

I'm well aware of what was said regarding Portman, and Thor 2 and yes there is a contract but these things are, never 100%.
They can change their Thor 2 plans, recast Portman, save her for Thor 3.... Many possibilities (I think that was it actually)

I just dont want Maria Hill being a ***** like she is in EMH. If she is that type of *****. Then she will not be welcome back for the sequel in my opinion

Hill's personality in EMH is consistent with what she's like in the comics, I believe. From what Samuel L. Jackson and Clark Gregg have said, Hill opposed the Avengers Initiative and clashes with Fury and Coulson constantly. They're likely setting her up to challenge Fury for control of SHIELD later on.

Frankly, although I realize Hill's purpose I don't have any use for her in any medium. She's like Henry Peter Gyrich on estrogen. The writers seem to lack the ability to create adversarial characters with any redeeming qualities.

I've actually never heard of many cases where a actor/actresses would be recasted for a role, only to come back later after someone else had just previously played their role.

I'm pretty confident that she'll be in "Thor 2".

In any case, it seems like the film will have its fair share of characters to deal with.

Heck, personally, given that we haven't heard much word about a sequel to Hulk, I would have preferred seeing Betty return and function within SHIELD like how her character did in the Ultimates Cartoon so that we could get some closure to that universe if we don't get a sequel to the Hulk.

But having Jan romanically involved with someone else WOULD be developing their relationship. Adding a complication into the mix would be doing just that.

True; damn you Wolvie for using logics against me!!!!:cmad::oldrazz: lol/jk

If they go that route, I just hope they avoid doing it like they did in TIH; guy disappears from love interest life...comes back years later, finds girl with the other guy, drama...it's almost like SR, especially with Thor having a red cape and being able to fly.haha

Personally, I rather not go there, but something tells me that we'd end up having a triangle either way, whether it be Thor/Jane/New Guy..or Jane/Thor/Sif, etc.

Let's just not head the Twilight route.lol

Good lord, Tony Stark truly is the only one that has a successful ongoing romantic relationship at the moment when compared against his other comrades.lol Yet another thing for him to brag about.haha

It doesn't have to make sense for someone to say it. This is the Hype after all

Lol, those were Options not order of events.
I get the TIH comparisons. But Jane and Thor don't work out.
That's just how it is.

When it comes to Marvel Films..hell any comic book film, I think it's safe to say that not everything, even some of the big things, will always been portrayed accurately in film at times.

Case in point:

1. In the X-Men films; Cyclops did not end up with Jean like he did in the comics

2. Gwen Stacy never died in Raimi's franchise

3. Sif and Heimdell are not presented as brother and sister as they are in the comics

4. Odin was not responsible for killing Laufey in the film like he was in the comics

5. Lois Lane never got engaged to Perry's nephew while thinking that her son was his in the comics at all

So in our case, while some of the foundations may be relatively the same, when it comes to films, I'm not willing to bet on what will surely happen in the films because of the fact that they had took place in the comics.

Well think of it this way. We need physical that (villain) and emotional threat (Thor's relationship with Jane and him coming to terms with his place on midgard)
I would love a mature resolution to their relationship. They love each other but they know it can't be. They are super close friends . Thor is partially fairy tale but since this is marvel, they girl doesn't get the prince. Because the prince is either sub ruling magic world or busy saving her world. Having Jane move on would be the best thing for her. And it would be fun to watch from an audience perspective. Sorry but I went to the joss whedon school of watching TV/movies (not a real thing) where happy endings suck and don't exist

Agreed; personally, I'm willing to see them at least being portrayed in having a shot at the beginning-middle of the sequel (ala the honeymoon phase), before things come apart, where they agree that it won't work at the end of the first film or something to that effect so that Thor will have somewhat moved on by the time that his third film arrives.

God you guys are so obsessed with that. LOL.

When the fate of an entire planet is on the line and you're trying to capture your long lost brother, the girl whom you knew all of 2 days can wait.

This.

An honorable mention is really all the girl needs. I'm betting Thor will ask Selvig how she is and that'll be the end of it. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

I agree with both of you, this film is about stopping an alien army from invading earth and people actually think seeing Jane should be a priority.

Smh
