those lucky few in attendance have been placed under strict embargo until 2 May preventing them from posting long-form reviews...

I thought the embargo was to be lifted on the 20th/21st of April? Is there any truth to this May 2nd thing or did this site just get it wrong?

I'm HOPING this weekend we guard a special viewing here because one of the companies Working on the film is in this county along with Walmart. I let my boss know last week there might be a "to be annouced" order come in. lol

kaijun, most of the people on the Saturday screenings will likely be fans and general audiences to help create buzz of the movie and not film critics.

I think Marvel just wants to control flow of reviews and have everything blow up right before the release.

Also sometimes embargoes end earlier than expected. I've had some embargoes end earlier than expected sometimes, so we'll see.

Everything presented so far has me believing, whole heartedly, that The Avengers is the live action super hero film I've been waiting for all my life!

I thought the embargo was lifted on the 16th? If it's lifted in Europe before the US, that's kinda pointless, with the interwebz and all.

But yea, I can understand being against allowing reviews too early, even if they are glowing. Better release them the week before release, so the buzz is fresh, instead of 2 or 3 weeks before hand.

From every thing i've seen and heard, this movie will be the dream superhero movie. The perfect representation of that certain level of superhero stories. It's not Spidey or Batman, it's frickin Avengers!
