Perhaps, but if that were the case, and I'm not trying to nitpick or anything, but wouldn't Fury bring those heroes on the team as well during the crisis?

Well, Namor and Panther have kingdoms to rule and they were both (especially Panther) initially averse to dealings outside their nations. We don't know that Fury hasn't been in contact with those guys already. Maybe we'll see in future movies

If we do get AIM in a sequel, I want to see WETA or ILM pull off MODOK, and not have it come off goofy.

When you see The Avengers you'll find out a bit more.
Basically The Avengers initiative is on ice and the heroes in the film are called in for other purposes. Hell, Thor isn't called in by SHIELD to help at all, he's there for his brother. Banner isn't there for the Hulk, he's there for research and to help find the Cube

That's a tall order

Oh, so it's more like a program that isn't being fully supported by those in charge? That definitely makes sense of things.

Yep. I can't imagine translating MODOK onto the big screen withput drastically modifying his appearance. I remember an interview where someone proposed MODOk as a villain and Chris Evans shot it down pretty quick. i mean how the hell do you adapt this into a SHIELD or Cap movie without it looking completely ridiculous and out of place

True; I guess it's just that the way Fury had made it sound like, it came off as though there were a large number of heroes out there in the MCU world that time that were active.
Well he at least knew about two potential superheros, so Stark made 3. And who knows, maybe he already considered a couple of his own top specialty agents to be just as "remarkable" and potentially effective against these threats as Stark and his fancy weapons, too.

Furthermore, we don't know that the events of Thor were Fury's first experience with extra-dimensional beings. Maybe he's already well aware of a place called K'un L'un, for example, but knows he has no access to the warriors there because its portal to Earth only appears every 10 years. For all we know, Fury may be aware of plenty of superpowered beings that have graced our planet, but the only ones he readily has access to at the moment are the ones we get in the Avengers.

Nope, still not convinced. MODOK will probably need a heavy overhaul if he wants to be in the MCU.

No... MODOK is too unique a villain to be givne such an overhaul. Leave him as is and just make him twice as creepy/scary. It'll be worth it I swear.

Of course, even if you're on a tight budget there is always room for Modok.

LOL I agree. Plus people love hand to hand combat during action scenes. I don't think MODOK can do that.

I could be wrong though I haven't seen him fight in close range most of the time he uses his laser thingy on his head.

He's not really meant for fighting physically, just using his psionic abilities and his Spock-like logic. I still don't know how he got into MvC aside from him just being so weird that the Capcom team just wanted him.

I'd love to see the MCU version's of Thor's reaction towards encountering MODOK and have it come off the way that they did in EMH; especially with Thor throwing his hammer at Modok mid-sentence.lol

Here is a Question for those of you Who've seen The Avengers. Does Samuel L. Jacksons Fury behave like Elijah Price from Unbreakable? especially from 1:08 on.

Only way I could see MODOK working visually in a movie would be to make the giant face just an image on a TV screen/computer monitor. And those baby arms and legs just have to go....maybe some robotic extensions or something might work.

I agree. MODOK is a character that cannot be adapted to the big screen literally, and if he is modified to fit the hyper-realism of Cap's universe, he won't even resemble MODOK at all. Besides, I found this villain to be rather over-the-top and ridiculous. There are much better villains for Cap to fight in his sequel; he doesn't need MODOK to make it work.

I don't see why you guys can't think out of the box, with effort MODOK could EASILY be a great on screen villain. Do you have no imagination or vision?

Protection from people seeing his "hammer?"

He sure as hell doesn't need protection from being hurt
