I might have to go to the Community Forum :( I sense spoilers are coming :o

Moscow, London ... Anyone know the next step in the European tour? Or after the premiere in London, the cast returned to the United States ?

Unfortunately, I think the only way for Marvel to get X-Men's rights back is if the superhero well has dried up in Hollywood, and even Fox decides against rebooting the franchise or spin it off with something like a DP solo movie. I just can't see that happening in the next 10-20 years.

??? How long was that contract with Fox for. Those contracts are usually for 10 years and in order for them to keep the right they have to make a movie every 3 years. Then at the end of the 10 years they can renew the contract if Marvel wants to.

the contract with fox is infinite as long as fox keeps making x-men films every so often. it's not a usual contract.

fox still has the daredevil rights and the last daredevil related film was released in 2005.

I'm sure i read somewhere that there is something in the contract where if Disney thinks Fox/Sony/whoever are making toxic products with the characters, which would damage Marvel, therefore Disney, as a whole, they have some grounds for getting the rights back.

Seeing as Fox seem to have pulled their thumb out of their ass and realised they need to make quality products it wouldn't surprise me if there is something like that.

Cap's gonna be staying with SHIELD when it picks up, so I imagine he'd be filling Falcon's usual role.

I imagine they'll have Falcon alongisde Cap in his sequel and Hawkeye will be back for The Avengers 2 with more screentime and character development. Since he's known for being in the Avengers I don't think they'd move Hawkeye to another movie but I could very well be wrong.

I concur.

Hawkeye is an Avenger, period. He's never been associated with any other team except Thunderbolts, and kinda-sorta The Defenders.

I couldn't see him playing sidekick to Cap. Much rather see Snap for that role.

Who the @$%@#%$ thought it was a good Idea to make an infinite contract!!!!:fst:

We need to send that person hate mail.

The X-MEN are lost to us.

Just know that they made that self sacrifice for a noble cause; to help keep MARVEL afloat during some difficult times.

when the options are bankruptcy or a poor deal, you take the poor deal.

If the "toxic" aspects of those contracts are true, I can't believe Marvel doesn't have the FF rights back yet.

I think it has a lot to do with there being good will between a lot of the producers over at Marvel with the guys at Fox and Sony. They've had nearly decade long relationship so they kind of just go with it.

With Disney in the picture that can change over the next couple of years though.

Fox is gonna have the rights to X-Men for a while, but since the X men franchise has kinda sorta been rebooted with the excellent X men First Class then I have no problems with Fox having rights to them (for now). I do wish that Sony would give up the rights to Spidey though so that he could appear in a future Avengers movie.

I just want Marvel to get the F4 rights back. CouldN'T care less about Spidey and X-Men. Mainly because i believe they are in good hands anyway.

X-Men I could care less on because FOX is actually realizing how to make great films with their franchises. The future is strong.

Spidey...I'm waiting until after Amazing Spidey comes out. Hope it is great but if I end up feeling bad or mediocre about it, I'll start having day dreams about a Marvel Studios Spidey franchise.

Spidey should appear in Avengers 4 (NOT getting ahead of myself lol). Do all the core characters first.

We really don't need the X-Men back because how would they fit in the current MCU. Having Quicksilver & Scarlet Witch makes me happy, but I rather we go after selective characters from FOX.

Fantastic Four - I'm on the fence with them. While many want them back I never cared for them. Only think I would love in the MCU in DOOM.
Silver Surfer (Galactus)
Daredevil - Does he bring anything to the current MCU?

Now I would love if we could get certain mutants who I feel help the MCU

Firestar For a future New Warriors cartoon
Nitro For a Civil War storyline
Sauron for a Ka-Zar story.
Alpha Flight
Kitty Pryde Love how she's a badazz in the Ultimate Universe.

Although I have slammed the deal that Marvel has made with other studios like Fox and Sony in the past, the fact is that deal probably saved Marvel and rescued it from bankruptcy. It gave the fans some spectacular movies such as Spider-Man 2 and X2, even with some stinkers inbetween like Fantastic Four and Ghost Rider, and the revenues generated for Marvel were enough for them to create Marvel Studios and start to make movies like Iron Man. Eventually, it led to Disney's acquisition of Marvel, after the House of Mickey saw the profitability in Marvel's movies and brand, and with such a huge conglomerate behind them they're now safe and won't be in danger of filing for Chapter 11 again.

DC is probably the total opposite of Marvel, since they've been owned by WB for decades and they were never in danger of survival. However, I think it also produced a bit of a laissez-faire within the company when it comes to making superhero movies, because they have all the money and all the characters under their control, and they're in no hurry to make those movies. Marvel was in survival & self-preservation mode, and it gave them a certain urgency about taking the initiative and make things happen. I think in the end, it has given us so many great movies to enjoy, so maybe things do happen for a reason.

You need the F4 to get the Surfer, Galactus, Annihilus, Super Skrull and the opportunity to do the best story line Marvel has ever put out.

First Class wasn't excellent was fairly decent. Better than X1 but under X2.
