The Avengers The Avengers Post Screening Review & Discussion Thread (SPOILER FILLED) - Part 5

got my tickets to see this tomorrow!!

just wanted to confirm a few things.

Do the 3d showings of Avengers have both the Spider-man and TDKR trailers attached to them?

Also, there are 2 post credit scenes??

thanks.

I'm not going to write a whole review, since everything worth saying has been said, but allow me to put this out there: the single-take tracking shot during the final battle brought tears of joy to my eyes.

Thanks dude.

Am I alone in thinking that theaters ought to have somebody from the staff in the theater? If not for the whole movie then at least checking in every 15 minutes or so. I shouldn't have to get up and miss part of the movie I paid $15 to see because some jerk shows up.

Some of the theaters I go to, do have staff that sweep through at the half way point. Also, you could always get up and tell a staff member, and they would be obliged to tell the distracting patrons to depart the premises.

The biggest responses my theater got was Thor's "adopted" line, Hulk punching Thor, and of course the scene where Hulk rag dolls Loki.

Some dude actually screamed "YES, YESSSSS!!!" when Hulk started slamming Loki around.

My theater was in stitches when during the Loki vs Thor scene that ended up with Loki saying "I'm listening." The delivery was fantastic. I don't care what people say, this was one of the most colorful villains I have seen on the screen in a long time. You just don't know what to expect with this one, he's menacing, evil, manipulative, but does have a dry sense of humor as well.

But again, I shouldn't have to get up and leave the theater, missing part of the movie I just paid to see. The transaction is that I give the theater money, they let me watch a movie. I don't think it's too much to ask that they provide a suitable environment.

Saw the AVENGERS today. Awesome is an understatment.

About 50 people in a theater that sits about 130

Trailers were:
Lawless
GI Joe
Amazing Spiderman
Frakenweenie
Brave

Best reactions were the 'love tap' Hulk gave Thor and Hulk beating Loki after Loki's speech

One question:I have not seen this mentioned. In the final scene when Maria Hill walks away from Fury she passes a man in a suit could that have been Colson?

If someone disrupts a showing....missing two minutes as you get a staff member in there to throw them out is a small price to pay.

Interesting. The trailers shown before The Avengers were:

The Dark Knight Rises
The Amazing Spider-Man
Prometheus
Battleship
Brave
Frankenweenie

I don't think that is Coulson since the guy at the end had a bigger body build and wore glasses, I believe.

Anyone hear comments from the GA when they saw Thanos during the credits? vanguard

Yeah....guy behind me said "Thanos!"....the guy with him said "Who?"....then the first guy said "The most evil and powerful dude in the Marvel universe."....second guy went "****"

lol same reaction happened in my screening, I shouted thanos and ended up explaining it to my friends....my theater was entirely filled with marvel fans and they were a delight

I am still in shock of how awesome this movie is! Everything about it causes major nerdgasms. But the stand out moments are Hulk's moments particularly Hulk vs Loki and Hulk punching Thor lol. And many other moments that everyone has talked about.

As for the two credit scenes Thanos awesome! At first I was thinking Galatucs done proper but Thanos is good.

Also Robert Downey Jr really trolled everyone with that post credit scene. It was hilarious though all of them eating burgers, I thought at someone was gonna say something but they didn't, which made it even more funny. Amazing movie, can't wait to see it again Sunday afternoon.

Does anyone know what Hulk said after he beat the crap out of Loki? Crowd was so loud with laughter I couldn't hear what he said.

Puny god.

Saw it today and it was great! I will have to watch it again though, but next time WITHOUT my 7 year old son. He was moving around too much and had to use the restroom 3 times. He also climbed up in my lap and fell asleep. Then, he asked a ton of questions, lol.

My 10 year old loved it as well. He had to use the bathroom but didn't want to miss the movie. So, he farted about 10 times and it stunk pretty bad. I thought it was the guy in front of me, but found out later it was my son, lol.

I have one question

In the scene where the Hulk gets bombarded by those aliens, how does he get out of that? I don't remember.

I just remembered something that I might not remember... Did they over show why Widow's wrist thingy lit up?

I have a thought about...

The Hulk/Loki scene. When Loki fought Thor, he held his own because he had his staff. When Hulk showed up to face Loki, Loki didn't have his staff. Maybe he would have faired better if he did?

I have to admit Loki's performance was great and I thought he stole some thunder away from the other guys..Todd Heddleston(sp) was great and his dry humor and delivery were great...

* The " I'm Listening" line was great as well as catching that arrow...

I think Xmen could take a few notes from Avengers on how to put multiple heros on the big screen and make it work!!

*Now if we can get a JLA movie like this!!

Not that I recall.
I remember an earlier screengrab from one of the very first trailers that showed the Widow's Bite in action, but I don't remember seeing it in the film at all. I'll have to re-watch it tomorrow and look more carefully to make sure....:cwink:

Loki could have fared better if he had shut his damn mouth in that scene. Dude, Loki, I love ya as a villain and all, but snarling your "kneel, you were meant to be ruled, underling" speech at Hulk when you don't even have your Spear of Destiny is not a well-thought out plan of attack.
