They changed Iris job in the 90's series too.Don't know what they have against reporters, but Iris turned out to be a non-factor in the series anyway.
Maybe I'm missing something here with this rumor, but are they actively seeking a black actress for Iris? As in an explicit call for that? If that's true, then that is kind of dumb. I don't care what race it is, calling for a specific race for a role like that is silly. I understand if they want a certain ethnicity for a part where the race matters (taking place in a certain country or something). But for a character living in a melting pot country? That just seems pointless and wrong to me. Why force it?

^ as far as I can remember, the same was thought about Stephen amell, including me somewhat, but he proved those people wrong and I think you should just give him a chance and if he isn't you cup of tea, oh well

^ I'm sure he will get better as he gets comfortable, kinda like Stephen, as the show went on he got gradually better. Personally I loved Barry and I'm sure he will get better as the series goes on ( or he gets his own show ).
the Barry lines that were supposed to be "awkward" like Felicity's were only awkward because they were badly delivered. That awkward delivery comes easier to Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker, who it seems they've modeled Barry after.
So a sleeker Flash instead of a bulky muscle suited Flash from the 90's? Hopefully Grant Gustin will hit the gym & put on some muscle before the series starts production.
