Arrow The Barry Allen/The Flash Thread - Part 1

Compressible Micro Fabric, I guess he wont have problems making his own suit.

My thoughts exactly. Also, love that Barry, a professed "comics fan", makes the comments about how terrible the green paint is and brings up the whole mask thing - pretty much said what real life comic fans thought about it, lol. Love that he made it for him as well.

The interplay between Ollie, Felicity, Diggle and Barry was beyond anything I've seen in movies this year. SUch great chemistry in the Arrow cave.

I loved when Barry said "Your mom shot you !?" And Ollie gives a "Don't even got there" gesture.

Loved that he made the mask and the guy is a really good and natural actor.

This is great television people.

I agree, this single episode of Arrow, to me, was better than Iron Man 3, to be sure, and honestly, pretty easily better than Man of Steel for me too. I at least cared about the characters here (and this is coming from a huge Superman fan). Oh yeah - and I had fun while watching it. Let me put it this way: I ENJOYED what I was seeing.

That ending scene with Barry was perfect, I knew they would try to have some sort of electricity run along his face, I just knew it!

Hope we see Barry again, real soon.

Glad you liked it, but do you still consider The Flash '90 series better than Arrow? :oldrazz:

You know there's no way that series was better, Arrow is just at another level, among the best tv has to offer. We'll see how much you enjoy the rest, the moment they start changing a few things in the new Flash show (and they will), you'll start hating again!!

Now I guess we have to wait till the Flash pilot to see Barry again since Arrow's ep 20 will be a normal episode, unless he makes a surprise appearance to help Ollie before the season is over. :woot:

It would be beyond cool if Barry takes the Flash moniker from an old comic of Golden Age Flash.:awesome:

I really do hope that Barry comes back for Episode 20, even though it's no longer a backdoor pilot for his own series.

With everything that Slade is preparing with Blood, along with the LOA looming in the background, Oliver is going to need some help.

I would say save it for an epic season finale. :woot:

Personally, I have to side with the group of people who think Episode 20 should focus on the reaction in the Arrowverse, including Barry's, to this little event:

You know, should they decide to do what most of us think they should.

That's debatable, a lot of fans are against... and if rumors are true, WB is looking for their cinematic Flash, hopefully we'll have the answer before 2013 says goodbye!

The whole lightning accident was perfectly pulled off. I can't wait for the Flash Pilot.

Something that was brought to my attention earlier today.........

On last night's episode, when Barry mentioned using a compressible micro fabric for his mask, it was a nod/hint at this:

If they can pull off the whole ring bit without being cheesy, great. But I won't complain if they don't do it. I'd be completely fine if he keeps his costume in a pouch or something.

The ring thing is ridiculous, they're not going to do that, even less in the cinematic universe, they're keeping things more grounded.

Dat origin.

I was floored at how well that was pulled off. Every second of it - beautiful.

This is a really weird thing to pick apart, but Linda Park looks older than Barry. Assuming they're planning to bring Wally into the mix, is he going to be... older... as well? I can't see him being much younger than Barry at least. That'd be a little strange for many reasons... but I digress.

Was the "I have experience with someone not liking you back" a nod to Iris? I wonder if they're going to spin it the New 52 way where they were former lovers and just working partners now. That might be a little disappointing, but I'm generally not hung up on romance subplots.

But man, I'm ecstatic over where this is going. I can't believe we have to wait a whole year for this Flash thing to take off. Patience is a virtue though, so hopefully this practice will pay off.

Loved it so much, I thought I'd re-share it with all of you:

I thought that line from Barry was meant to be a comment on himself liking Felicity and her being attracted to Oliver (since that was definitely a thematic thread in the episode), but to each their own.

I really liked Gustin a lot better this Episode. It's good that they got rid of the overplayed awkwardness.

Barry Allen has the second-stupidest origin story in comics, second only to Wally West's origin story. However, the slight tweeks/updates to the origin made it work much better on the show. I regards to the 90's Flash show, it had Luke Skywalker playing the Trickster. This automatically makes it awesome.
