Arrow The Barry Allen/The Flash Thread

I'm really excited for this. I think one of my mates owes me money because I said Barry would be the easiest of the other heroes to bring into the world of Arrow. And hell, if he gets his own spin off I'll be over the freakin moon! I'm so sick of DC lying to me about getting a Flash movie if I see their other movies.

Flash is very exciting indeed (love the character, but I would prefer Wally to Barry). I'm getting sick of DC lying about WW myself.

So not only we will get an origin of the Flash on TV, but we will see the origins play out in theaters?

I'm actually hoping for a crossover of the tv and film universes, this is the perfect way to do it. They can still come out with a Flash film too, it'll just have a foundation already from the tv series, a Flash film that's in the same universe would be sweet, basically they'd just have a lot more money and could do crazy time travel stories

the CW is negotiating with Eric Johnson (Smallville, Flash Gordon) to play Barry Allen

Wouldn't that be some **** if Eric Johnson plays Barry Allen? Haha...not that I dislike the dude. I just think it'd be...funny. Kind of.

I don't know about you guys, but I could see something like this being used in the costume

Sure there's some padding there, but nothing too obvious or in the way. Just on important bits.

No padding, please.

No added muscle, no ARMOR, no "tech". ****! :argh:

You kinda need some padding if you're going to be:
A) running fast.
B) fighting evil.

You can't just be running around in spandex. Besides, it's not stupidly padded. Just some basic areas to protect him from falling at speed and grinding along the road...

You don't need padding when you have a protective aura around you created by the Speed Force/your super speed powers that protects YOU from burning up and running at super speed (allows you to run at super speed).

It's all covered in the comics, dude. The Flash doesn't need any of that ****.

He also heals fast.

Armor and padding is just conforming to the "norm" of "let's give 'dem armor cuz everyone needs armor!", The Flash does not and should not be in ANY of that. Period. :BA

The Flash can run around in damn near whatever he wants, his uniform is made out of special materials, but not padding or anything bulletproof. He can dodge bullets and let them phase through him or catch them out of mid air for crissakes! He's not Batman, he doesn't need any of that ****. He wears a form fitting outfit because his aura covers more of it the closer it is to his skin.

The ear pieces have a mini police scanner in them so he can pick up on crime and it picks up the radio waves depending on which speed he's running.

(Hey, it just occured to me - De Niro could be Paul Gambi, the Rogues' taylor. ;) LOL )

Kevin Smith is mad...

As in the angry kind, not the insane kind...

I'm sure Nolan approves the armor!:o

I have seen every episode of the 90's series and loved it even for the style and John was awsome as Barry. The only things that would be awsome for the new Flash series would be:

1: Use CSI effects for the crime lab like they do in CSI series with the computer effects, holographics, etc and Barry having some sort of sight which he can see a crime scene in his head played out in hologram.
2: The suit needs to be almost identical to the old series which was great looking back then with just a newer material
3: There needs to be a Tina McGee and a Julio Mendez in the series, Star Labs to visit, and comic book characters like family, Curt Engstrom that works with Tina,
4: He should be able to run around the world super fast and use the speed force unlike in the series but in time when he learns to and also travel to other towns and cities and also he should live in Keystone City this time not Central City with some high tech real world tech and he needs a cell phone and laptop and cool apartment.
5: There needs to be villains like Trickster, Captain Cold, Mirror Master, Grodd (CGI), Abra Kadabra, Thinker, Capt Boomerang, Heat Wave, Professor Zoom (Yellow suit), Tar Pit, Peek-a-boo, anti-monitor, and other villains
6: If possible add the ring into the series that he keeps his costume inside of and maybe Tina designs it for him
7: His dog needs to be in the series, the animal was cute and funny too
8: The series should be called The Flash or Scarlet Speedster
9: Cameo characters like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Green Arrow, and other SC characters
10:Theme music and opening was good in the other series they need to make it up beat like that and no words just the music.

Bring on the Flash tv series....I always had hopes that a new series would be on TV ever since the last one. All they need now is a new Superman series live action in his suit fighting comic villains each week.

I would prefer Flash's suit to be lightly armored , like DCUO as I think it just looks cooler.

With that said I don't mind the realistic sprinter type uniform he wears.

If the series does get picked up and The Flash DOES get a show, they had better call it "The Flash". I'm sorry, but "Scarlet Speedster" is dumb and sounds terrible. It seriously doesn't get any cooler or more condensed than just "The Flash". The genius-ness of it is in it's simplicity! And I'm not hatin' on the alternate monikers they throw around for The Flash in the comics, let alone any character, but some of them simply do not work and would be bad names for a show/movie (imagine calling "the Incredible Hulk" the "Jade Giant" or some ****....that would suck).

Why they would call it anything other than that is beyond me. All this **** began with The Dark Knight (and ****in' Smallville :o ...which worked BECAUSE IT IS A PLACE, it's the town in which Clark grew up, it's a fitting name for a tv show). And it works great for Batman, even Man of Steel is a good title for a Superman movie, but "Scarlet Speedster", "Emerald Guardian", these sound like different characters all together let alone good titles for movies. They don't even sound like the same properties.

The show should be called "The Flash".
