Aaron Paul's schedule is going to be clear after Breaking Bad..... He could own this role too

If Jay Garrick exists in a Flash series (movie or otherwise), I've always said it should be on earth 2/another dimension or reality or whatever. The Post Crisis version where all the golden age heroes exist along with the silver age heroes never made much sense to me, especially as we got into the 90s/2000s; Jay Garrick and the others suddenly could no longer be 50 and 60 year olds, but in their 80s and 90s. It's just too much and too old for it to be plausible, IMO. Only way that even remotely works with the WW2 characters is if they are interacting with "silver age" characters who exist in the 60s and 70s. Other than that I say different realities for all of them.

Didn't they retcon it so that the JSA was stuck in dimensional limbo or something for a few decades at some point?

I don't know. I love the idea of the Flash Legacy, and I want Jay to be featured in a semi-prominent role. I think it adds an interesting dimension to Barry's story.

In my Flash movie I was having Jay show up and become a mentor to Barry and Wally. I was going to explain his age by having it be a side effect of his powers.

I know people are conflicted about this show violating the no supernatural elements thing, but maybe the Flash won't have super powers and will just be the world's fastest man through normal means and he just decides to take up crime fighting. Like if Usain Bolt decided to become a vigilante.

That's a joke, it would be terrible

You do know that they said Barry would have his actual powers via the accident or whatever, right? They're using him to introduce super powers into the universe of Arrow but it's not gonna be like OH HEY METEOR FREAKS ;)

Hope they can make it look as good as this:

Not sure, but I'd rather Jay exist in a different timeline and come over and hangout with Jay than be the "first Flash". That just doesn't make sense to me.

Aaron Paul for Barry Allen. They're looking for a movie quality actor. He's the guy.

I am worried about what bringing a super powered being into the show will do. So far this whole show has set up that there are no powered beings and that Oliver is a human vigilante, similar to Nolan's Batman world. So I am worried what brining Flash opens up into the show. Because that also means that they open to door to super powered criminals. And then eventually Oliver fighting beings out of his league at this moment.

Although I could see it happening like this, or at least I'd love to see this,
Amanda Waller is the Director of Check Mate which is trying to keep the knowledge or Super Beings away from the public.
Like Men in Black but with Superheroes and villains. So thanks to Flash Oliver stumbles onto this knowledge and into this
world. Maybe this even puts him at odds with his team, Diggle, Felicity, and Roy, because he cannot tell them what he now
knows. They know he is keeping secrets and they don't like it.
This could could the super beings and powers hush hush and downplayed for at least one season and maybe more.

As long as they don't overuse the powers I'm all for it. And I think that havin Oliver fight people way out of his league would be a step further in the direction of the source material. Green Arrow always fights guys who are a lot stronger. He often looses at first. It's what keeps him aware of the fact that he is one hell of a badass but no Bruce Wayne ;)
We already saw Danny Brickwell's name on the list. I'd love to see their fight from the comics.

I'm torn with super powers entering the show tbh. I really hope this now means they will retcon that awful version of the Count and bring in the real Count Vertigo.

Also maybe now we'll get an epic scene of Ollie shooting an arrow into Vandal Savages chest and then he pulls it out leaving Ollie shocked. I can't remember who came up with that idea but I'm obsessed with the idea of it happening.

Wow Vandal Savage would be a sweet villain on Arrow but I feel like if Arrow's universe is connected to the film universe, that they shouldn't use Vandal Savage so soon, Vandal Savage would translate really well to film. He would make a sweet Justice League movie villain

The thing about the powers that worries me is the show seems like it was setting up a Nolan world, where absolutely no one has powers at all. Oliver was stuck on the island for 5 years alone and no one with powers was asked to look for him. the Glades is being demolished and no one with powers came to help. So it almost seems like there are none. Plus characters are portrayed very mortal seeming, so it just feels like out of left field stuff.
I am not saying it wont work because I have no clue how they will present it, why, or when. But It feels strange.
Just as strange to me as if they had suddenly introduced super powers into the Nolan Batman world, or like when they started to bring in all these superheroes into Smallville before Clark had become Superman.
And this sort of leads me to another train of thought, whenever they show the media talking about the vigilante (who I want them to start calling Green Arrow) they haven't mentioned any other superheroes or other vigilantes. So it sort of paints the idea that Oliver is the only vigilante at the moment.
So if they come into the show and change it so that Oliver is NOT the only vigilante/superhero out there I would like to see how they do this.
No one even wears costumes on the show. Let alone a red costume that covers the guy's face too. I wonder if they are planning to make Oliver the start of all this super heroics, the one who inspires a whole generation of heroes, or if he will just be one of the heroes at the forefront. I'm hoping the latter. I'm hoping that he is just there protecting his city when similar occurrences begin happening all over. But that seems sort of odd too.

Also, just for no reason, when they mentioned Ted Kord, I now want a Ted Kord/Blue Beetle cameo.

I don't see how superpowered beings change anything for the show. The introduction to super powers only opens up Ollie's understanding to a bigger world. I think Arrow fighting super powered being means he is gonna need a team to back him up. It's going to open up all kinds of great storylines like maybe we get a Black Canary with a sonic cry. How does Ollie adjust to having Laurel not only becoming a hero but one that is one par or greater than he is in some ways. That is tough blow for any ego to suffer.

I am wondering how Metamorpho will be....if he's like how he is in the comics and/or his JL animated show appearance, it would be sweet.

He better be similar to the comics, Metamorphos been looking so cool lately

eh my thing is...why bother even making a superhero show if you are not going to include SOME characters with powers?

I don't know if anyone is saying they don't want super powers in the show, maybe some are, but what I am saying is that I think some people are unsure because the 1st season was set up as if it was in the Nolan Batman world where no one has powers, no one has costumes, there aren't superheroes mentioned at all, or powers mentioned, and things were sort of kept to a more realistic level.
So it seems hard to imagine how they will introduce super powers like the Flash or Metamorpho into a show like this.
Oliver didn't even have trick arrows or wear a mask. He used a hood and face paint and actually killed with real arrows. They didn't even try to go as unrealistic as trick arrows in season 1.

I'm not saying its not possible, or that it wont be cool, or that I don't want that, just that I am unsure at this moment (without seeing anything or hearing more than the rumors and news) how they will be able to do this.
I'd holding judgment till I actually see how they plan to do this.

I don't think they will connect it to the film universe but I'd have liked them too.

Unless it's strictly a Batman show (where even some of them have powers though, so I digress), I agree.
