Ummm... don't you guys remember when Bruce Wayne's crib got all set on fire and ****? For continuity's sake, the Penthouse totally makes sense to me.

And in order to make things right by fanboys, all Nolan has to do is include a giant penny in the new batcave. Then we'll all be cool.

Bruce: Yes, Alfred. I need you to drive me to the remnants of the mansion. Then I can remove the 2x4's with a crow bar and rappel down the well, change into the batsuit and drive back to downtown Gotham.
Alfred: Very good, Sir. I'll get the Rolls.
Bruce: And don't guilt trip me about Global Warming. I'm Bruce Wayne, Goddammit! I own you!

It's going to be different....in every Bat movie to date there has been a batcave. It will just feel like something is missing to me. Atleast we get the Joker!

Iam nether angry nor disappointed with this. Heck I was expecting it. The manor is under reconstruction I mean how would bruce go down there without the construction team to notice if it was beneath their feet and accesible to the eye somehow. It would be far to much trouble for bruce to hide everything and not only that but it woudn't make any sense for him to drive back every night from his penthouse suit-up and get the tumbler only to come back to downtown gotham to fight. To me having the PH and a garage as the cave for some time will be good, a change for once. plus iam sure that it won't just look like a regular garage Iam certain that it will have some cool stuff in there all of bruce's tools new weapons ect. the question is how does bruce manage to get the tumbler inside the building without anyone else noticing? I guess he does it very late at night or maybe he rents a truck and drives it himself with all his tools(including the tumbler) inside.

How can they show the detective side of Batman and not show him in the cave on his computers?

im sure Nolan will prove us wrong again.

I like the idea of not using both Batcave and Wayne Manor this time. First, we had it in every Batman movie and it's interesting for Bruce to have a "home base", which lays in the heart of crime- second, it's logical that men can't build up a broken down manor in a week!!!
I think it's one of the best decisions for the movie

Well he could still use the cave without the manor, a few shots of him upgrading it might be nice. When did he do all this work in the Penthouse? Maybe the film doesn't pick up immediately then, or it jumps

Not especially bothered, although I would have liked to have seen Batman pondering in the dark at how to catch the Joker, away from Alfred
