So I need to get back into Batman. I haven't read any comics in about two years. So, should I start picking up Morrison's Batman and Robin? What tpb's should I start reading?

Batman and Robin is the best superhero comic out now so yes you should pick it up. I know you'll enjoy since Morrison has describe the series as David Lynch meets the Adam West show.

The rest of Morrison's run is great and is collected in three tpbs-
Batman and Son
The Black Glove
Batman R.I.P

The final fate of Batman happens in Final Crisis not in his Batman run, though.

OK sweet thanks. How many issues of Batman and Robin are out so far?

Is Batman: Dark Detective by Steve Englehart and Marshall Rogers, any good???

Is the TPB of Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader? worth picking up. I have both the comics. But I heard Black Orchid was included in it...

Dark Detective is a follow-up to the 1970s story that's collected in the Strange Apparations trade paperback. I think it came out early in this decade.

I love Strange Apparations, it's one of my favorite Batman stories. Dark Detective? Not so much. I read it because I liked the 1970s work, but was pretty disappointed. Neither the writing nor the art was as good as it was back then.

That said, I might re-read Dark Detective soon, because the story Kevin Smith is writing right now, The Widening Gyre is trying to position itself as a follow-up of sorts to Dark Detective.

DARK DETECTIVE WAS PRETTY GOOD, but:

I'm only going to say this once:

STAY AWAY FROM KEVIN SMITH BATMAN

Cacophony was terrible. The art is mediocre and the dialogue is kinda like BATMAN & ROBIN (the movie) at times!

The Widening Gyre looks to be very similar if not MORE OF THE SAME!

Worth every penny.

Don't know where you heard Black Orchid was included. It isn't. The "Whatever Happened..." book includes the title story, and the origin stories Gaiman wrote for Poison Ivy and The Riddler from a "Secret Origins" annual.

Black Orchid, where it has Batman in it, is NOT in the collection.

and im gonna throw this out there again:

BATMAN: BROKEN CITY is a MUST!

yes very much so, especially if you have read Batman & Son and The Black Glove beforehand

A recommendation of mine would be BATMAN IN THE 70's

i guess I'm just a sucker for the moodier stuff by the likes of O'neil, Adams, etc.

Is No Man's Land a good story arc to get? And if so... what Graphical Novels to get? Is it like Knightfall and its in 3 parts? ^^; Or less hopefully lol.

NML is in 5 books with 2 trades that come before it Contagion and Cataclysm. So there are 7 books.

Holy money seeking collection, Batman! @_@

Is it at all worth it tho? I mean... Damn 7 graphical novels... Thats gonna cost me alot.

Is The Killing Joke Deluxe Edition re-print better than the original print???

The two events before No Mans Land ain't really essential.

You can read NML as a standalone story. Think of it as Batman/The Warriors/Escape from New York. It's brilliant, I highly recommend it.
