The Batman Reboot Casting Thread - Part 2

Is it just me or does it seem that some people almost refer to Nolan in revered tones like a religious figure. Batman trilogy has been good but it's not Ben-Hur. Plenty of good directors out there WB needs to follow Marvel and just getting some decent movies out that tie together and create an awesome DC universe.
Thou shalt have no other gods before Nolan.

Armitage could work.

I also think Philip Winchester, another Strike Back alum, could make a good Batman. He plays a really good, intense, methodical hardass on that show and he's built like a tank. Sure, his hair is blonde, but he could dye it (or maybe the hair doesn't even matter). Also got a great jaw. I know the role will probably go to someone much more famous, but you never know.

Good for you. You can write your own wishlist lol.

Out of curiosity. What would yours be for the reboot?

I actually like most of your ideas. Though I definitely think the success of trilogies brings the third one back to the beginning. I haven't seen DKR but I assume with the involvement of Liam Neason they are doing the same kind of thing. So It would be cool if we could see them bring it full circle.

Someone mentioned the idea of doing a series of movies, not a trilogy, and I kinda like that. Don't have to feel confined to the traditional format of movies where it's 1 2 3 done.

The kinda crappy thing is the story lines I would want to do have been used. I want to do a more traditional Knightfall story. Where there is actually Azreal/Jean Paul Valley. Where Arkham does get exploded, ya know?

I think it would also be pretty awesome to do Killing Joke and the death of Jason Todd's Robin.

Well, right now I'm starting work on a script that features The Court Of Owls being sort of like Quantum from James Bond or The Patriots from MGS...where they have been manipulating and controlling the events of Gotham for years.
Vicki Vale is the love interest. Her talents as journalist lead her into peril and ultimately aid Batman.
Robin will be featured...but I'm introducing him as a 15 year old Talon assassin, who was kidnapped by TCOO when he was 10 years old, when they had his parents killed...Then after being deprogramed by Batman, becomes the innocent bird known as 'Robin', who goes on to aid Batman in his fight against TCOO.

The Riddler will be featured as well, though won't be the main villain. Ra's will be getting a mention, as he might know what's going on...but since he's dead...

Thomas Wayne Jr, under his false name, will be become the new Mayor of Gotham, orchestrated by TCOO, when their attempted assassination of Bruce Wayne fails, and he fights his clueless brother as mysterious 'Owlman'...all this done to show Batman who really controls Gotham City and that his attempts to thwart them will seal his own fate.

OK, now before I start writing, who would want to see that as a film? :)

I really wouldn't be surprised if David Goyer returns as cowriter

I would, but I wonder what batman would actaully be doing with his time!

I'm focusing on Batman doing more detective work, trying to uncover the ways and means to take TCOO down...but he has to possibly deal with the notion that if he destroys them, he could end up destroying Gotham...that's if they don't destroy him first!

He has to deal with putting Dick Grayson's life back together.

Deal with life with Vicki.

Deal with the Riddler holding key info about TCOO

And deal with discovering he has a half brother, who is also the murderous Owlman! I wouldn't bother saying it's full like in the comics, cause I feel the GA would be extremely confused. So I'm saying Thomas Wayne had a son he never knew about, and since TCOO has a long fixation with the Wayne family, they kidnapped him as a child. But they never counted on Thomas being killed in a random mugging, so their plans pass on to the next of kin, Bruce.

It's not easy being Batman :D

If this doesn't look like Bruce Wayne from the 70's then I'm going crazy.

I hated his voice in Ghost Rider, but it wasn't just his voice. His regular voice is fine.

I've been catching up on his work. You couldn't tell from Ghost Rider but he is a great actor.

I was thinking maybe Ethan Peck (Gregory Peck's grandson) could make a good Batman. He's still unknown to some people, but he has the looks, the built, right age (26 years old) the height (6'1), the deep, authorative voice, and a decent acting range.

That's okay.

They won't be casting the Batman for the reboot franchise anytime soon.

Unfortunately.

I remember when people were calling for him to play Robin back when RTP came out. He definitely has grown. He has a much better Batman look than Bentley, IMO.

Holy s***, that's the kid from Road to Perdition?!?! Mind. Blown.

Well, I thought he was a decent actor as a kid, but the question is, can he still act? Because good child actors don't always improve with time.

Well, he's on Teen Wolf so... no.

Just kidding; I've never even seen that show. I hope he can, though. He does have a good look for Batman and would be about the right age if they want to cast someone in the same age bracket as Cavill's Superman.

What about Joe Anderson? All he needs to do is hit the gym. Logan Marshall-Green would also be good...
